Role Description Summary

The Solutions Engineer is the technical point of contact for a regional Global Sales team or specialized segment. As our Solutions Engineer you will be a key member of the Solutions Engineering Team, providing guidance and planning in aspects of defining, developing, and improving solutions for customer’s service requirements using the full suite of SES products and services. This includes GEO & MEO satellite assets, ground networks and third party where applicable. The Solutions Engineer will be responsible for solution design and technical support which impacts the performance of SES. 

 

 

Primary Responsibilities / Key Result Areas

  • Prioritize and assign workload in accordance with commercial commitments. 
  • Support optimized technical service solutions and prepare technical proposals in support of sales requests with a detailed understanding of the customer’s service requirements; 
  • Support engineering analysis guidance to determine how new and existing services can be optimized; 
  • Challenge legacy processes based on assimilated data and present alternate efficient options;
  • Prepare, compile, and present customer presentations for service solutions, systems design and standard products utilizing necessary SES technical tools;
  • Develop and provide training to customers both internal and external for SES services and products;
  • Represent SES at trade shows and industry conferences as a technical representative;
  • Track and understand new satellite access schemes, earth station antenna design, and wireless network technologies;
  • Maintains organization ethics and morals and always adheres to the SES Codes of Conduct;
  • Other ad-hoc duties or projects, as required by Solutions Engineering Management.
     

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering/Communications/Computer Science;
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant Solution Engineering experience in Aero, Maritime, Energy, Fixed Data, Commercial Shipping, Government or Cloud markets;
  • Theoretical and practical experience with antenna design and optimization;
  • Knowledge of satellite transmission analysis and optimization;
  • Knowledge of satellite access technologies and earth station components;
  • Knowledge of English is essential. Additional regional languages desirable;
  • Excellent communication ability, both in written and verbal;
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and sales proposal skills;
  • Willing to travel internationally and meet directly with clients;
  • Ability to work effectively in a global high energy multicultural team.
