Senior Manager, Bid Management O3b mPOWER

SES is looking for a Senior Manager who should be managing the activities of the Bid Managers team, responsible for creating competitive proposals using O3b mPOWER products and services, to include technical solution, commercial terms and sales strategy.

In this position you will be working with various representatives from the SES functional departments, including solutions engineering, product development, asset management, regulatory, and sales teams, in order to ensure that all aspects of a complete and thorough proposal are considered before an offer is sent to customer.

You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):

  • Leading team building competitive proposals that include O3b mPOWER services
  • Supporting sales teams in the creation and maintenance of Sales Strategies
  • Assisting the VP O3b mPOWER Commercial Lead in directing and mentoring junior O3b mPOWER team staff
  • Identify, develope, and help to close new O3b mPOWER business opportunities 
  • Assist VP, O3b mPOWER Commercial Lead in creating and delivering training on O3b mPOWER solution and products
  • Represent SES Networks and the O3b mPOWER programme in industry events and speak at seminars and conferences on behalf of the company
  • Maintain proper records using a CRM tool (D365) 




Must Have

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in selling complex connectivity solutions including services, capacity and equipment to telecom carriers, mobile operators and ISPs.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, Electrical Engineering, or Data Communications from an internationally recognized university 
  • Management, coaching and mentoring; Prospecting skills; Qualifying skills; Presentation skills; Closing skills; Negotiation skills; Developing and maintaining client relationships skills 
  • Experience in leading a team to develop a proposal in response to a RFI/RFP


Nice to Have

  • Master’s Degree or MBA from an internally recognized university is preferred
  • Industry courses (e.g. CCDA, CCNA) etc. 
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time, domestically and internationally
