Sales Operation Specialist, O3b mPOWER

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Sales Operations position reports to the VP, Global Sales, O3b mPOWER and is part of the O3b mPOWER Commercial Development team.  In this role, you will be responsible for helping to achieve specific O3b mPOWER revenue objectives through supporting sales activities in a variety of operational areas. 

 

As a key part of the Commercial Development team, you will push to achieve sales both directly and indirectly.  Daily, the role will support specific proposal development, manage team and proposal processes key to achieving revenues, drive continual improvements in sales activities through mar-ket analysis, training and development of the sales force, and coordination with other stakeholders in the sales process.  You will also team with the market segment sales teams, (including the Market Development team), on a temporary, or surge basis where needed, to close O3b mPOWER deals. Working with other functions of the mPOWER team, especially the Product Development function, you will develop tools and techniques that will help the sales teams sell O3b mPOWER.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Support bid management process by managing key process and proposal assembly
  • Represent Commercial Development team in engagements with other departments running functions and building tools key to team success (e.g., Apollo)
  • Engage with customers and sales teams as necessary to ensure a smooth purchasing experience and handoff to implementation teams
  • Support sales teams in: collateral development, and proposed writing 
  • Assist VP to track and report all O3b mPOWER leads to senior management
  • Work with O3b mPOWER product development to develop, coordinate, communicate and execute detailed ecosystem and customer capture campaigns to ensure the company has the best partners, information, and access to effectively deliver new services and revenues
  • Create status reports for senior management on the agencies, departments, programs, partners, and associated capture plans
  • Assist in the review and update of the O3b mPOWER business plan--primarily by collecting revenue projections from sales teams
  • Participate in annual and ongoing strategic planning

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Organized, innovative and entrepreneurial mindset. Previous entrepreneurial projects are considered a strong asset
  • Ability to successfully manage projects related to bid management proposals, processes improvements and smooth commercial operations
  • Fluency in English; other languages are considered as additional assets
  • Previous work experience in more than one country 
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally preferred
  • Interface primarily with the sales and products/solutions development teams 
  • Work will take place in a fast-paced environment with numerous concurrent demands
  • Knowledge of SES Networks key target clients, including their buy-in process, and competition

  • Basic understanding of MEO and GEO HTS technology and satellite ground equipment
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, or demonstrable equivalent work experience 
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience is required in a satellite or telecommunications environment
