ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Asset Management, (AM), team identifies and allocates capacity to enable sales deals, the development of new products and optimizes the utilization of SES in-orbit assets across the global GEO & MEO satellite fleets, for the mutual benefit of customers and SES. As part of this team, the AM Manager focuses on the optimization of the satellites and gateway resources, based on the commercial opportunities and products characteristics, including in the planning approach a broad perspective within the context of GEO/MEO multi-orbit planning landscape.
The main task will be to manage and proactively contribute to key Asset Management responsibilities in the area of capacity planning and optimization for MEO and GEO (including third party assets) fleet, therefore you will need in-depth knowledge of each customer’s technical and commercial requirements, as well as the technical characteristics and capabilities of SES assets and Product Offering to identify the best alternate scenarios to facilitate sales deals that may not otherwise be possible due to lack of suitable resources.
You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):

Management of day-to-day activities for satellite and gateway resources of GEO on fleet, GEO off fleet (third party assets), and MEO fleet through Capacity Planning and Optimization tool and any other interim planning tools within the over-arching SES network architecture in both short- and long-term timeframes. This includes:
- optimization of the capacity for the assigned satellites (on fleet and off fleet) to enable sales to meet their revenue targets
- advise on resources availability for assigned satellites and approve resources
- proactive analysis of regrooming options and reconfiguration of satellites, including transition of off fleet services into on fleet to reduce cost of third-party assets
- proactive approach to resolving any identified potential contention for assigned satellites to determine if there are alternative SES fleet resources that can meet the needs of all involved customers to maximize SES’s revenue (Escalate contention and drive the resolution)
- contribution to planning for the integration of new assets to facilitate high utilization rate
- proactively contribute to the development of customer solutions with complex MEO and GEO resources assignment issues (including identifying options for third party assets), liaising and communicating with relevant internal stakeholders

Continued development of Asset Management processes for allocating, managing, and reporting capacity resources within overall Asset Management planning perspective:
- proactively advise on process enhancements to fulfil AM tasks within the Lead-to-Order and Order to Fulfilment CRM flows
- contribute to Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system requirements
- provide fill rate figures for the assigned assets
- Supports the development of Asset Management requirements for GEO and MEO related resources management and optimization tools. In particular:
- lead and drive interim resources planning tools readiness
- contribute to the development of Capacity Analytics dashboards, and capacity planning tools, in which are the tools used on daily basis as a first insight into capacity inventory

As part of Emergency Response Team, contribute to the AM input to complex (e.g. s/c failure, gateway failure) contingency and restoration activities, in coordination with Contingency and Transition team
YOUR PROFILE:
Must Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or like field, or demonstrable equivalent work experience in lieu of formal qualifications
- Minimum 5 years professional experience in capacity management and/or optimization of satellite or terrestrial networks
- Technical knowledge of platform technologies, satellite technology, satellite network operations and earth stations
- Understanding of CRM and financial tools
- Strong communication and presentation skills for internal & stakeholders
- Programming skills in Java, Python, R, Excel/VBA and/or MATLAB
- Experience with PowerBI
Nice to Have
- Master's Degree in Engineering or like field
- Ability to set priorities and focus to handle multiple time-sensitive tasks in a demanding environment
- Understanding of satellite telecommunications networks and resources management principles and architectures and how they interact within the platform and the satellite resources
- Data analytical skills to develop and advance optimization tools
- Financial acuity to balance commercial concerns with technical constraints
The base salary range for this full-time position is $115,000.00-$145,000.00 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target salary for new hires in Washington, DC Metro Area. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
