Sales Manager, Data & Mobility Services

The Sales manager - Fixed Data will be part of a team forming and executing the strategy for, and developing and positioning SES Networks’ products, services and solutions into the European Fixed Data market segment, including SES’ Telco, MNO, and other Fixed Endpoint customer base.

The role is essential to the value of the company because it sets strategic sales plans for the fixed data, Energy and Cloud vertical markets; by translating segment insights and customer requirements into customer leads and commercial strategy for satellite enabled Mobile/Cellular networking, IP Trunking, Enterprise, and Consumer Broadband applications.

The sales manager is responsible for ensuring the organization stays focused on value proposition to the customer. The sales manager is required to have a good knowledge of the regional social, cultural and political landscape of the region, with particular focus on the European Telcos customer base, with focus in the future on the Cloud business.


Extended Job Description:



  • Establish close relationships with executives of our key global current and prospect accounts.
  • Achieve assigned revenue targets.
  • Negotiate and close high value contracts; including qualifying leads, develop solutions, prepare proposals, make presentations.
  • Establish and execute on strategic accounts plans for key prospects or customers.
  • Coordinate within a multi-disciplinary team consisting of engineering, finance, legal, product and operations staff to manage and resolve customer issues.
  • Identify new products and services that add value to the customer’s and SES’ business.
  • The role will include working very closely with the Digital Access PLM (Product) team, both for Telcos, Service providers.
  • Focus of Broadband, Enterprise, MBH (Mobile Backhaul), Energy and Cloud solutions.
  • Successful candidate will be the “go to” for MBH knowledge, current and future SES maritime and aero products.



  • Very good selling & negotiation skills with the ability to effectively make commercial offers, negotiate price variations and drive the sales process by personal engagement in key deals.
  • The ability to work independently and across teams as well as on multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Business Development skills, able to balance near term performance against long-term strategy.
  • Problem solving and decision making, having the capacity to analyse complex and diverse problems, evaluate options, balance risk with opportunity, and recommend effective sales solutions that will have a significant contribution to business success.
  • Knowledge and skills across some or all of the following areas:  Satellite networking, Ethernet/IP networking, Cloud Infrastructure and Services, plus Mobile/Cellular networks including LTE/5G, Enterprise IT/OT, and IoT.
  • Leading by example in organizational ethics and morals, taking strong action against non-adherence to the SES Way of Working, ethics and codes.
  • Intercultural awareness, working across a global enterprise with awareness and sensitivity to global cultural variations.
  • High level of personal integrity, and adhere to a strict code of conduct and personal behavior. He or she must have good commercial judgment and the ability to operate within a sometimes high pressure environment, or under short timeframes.



  • A University degree within Engineering, Marketing, Commerce or any other relevant area.
  • 10  years professional experience, ideally in the Satellite, Telecommunications, or Media Industry in an international company.
  • Proven track record of successful sales management.
  • Demonstrated public profile for industry events, media.
  • 3 years’ experience working closely with FD customers, preferably for a specialist service integrator and or satellite operator with active FD accounts.
  • Customer relationship management experience.
  • Deep understanding of FD market and developments in the customer base.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. A similar capability in languages spoken in the region is strongly desirable.



  • Travel as required, up to approximately 50% of work days.
