Manager, Sales, Global Service Provider

Role Description Summary:

At SES, we are passionate about providing global managed data services enabled by satellite, delivering high-performance networked communications anywhere.

As part of SES Networks, you will be responsible for meeting aggressive sales targets, sales objectives, and revenue targets in the respective target market, along with developing sales strategies and executing them. You are also required to identify sales opportunities related to SES Networks services within existing and new customers and generate sales strategies applicable to a diverse set of customers and their broad range of satellite-based business applications. Must have the ability to directly influence and close significant deals with regional leading Global Service Providers, Commercial Maritime Service Providers, and building relationships with Europe’s top energy companies.

The critical market / vertical focus will be to sell SES GEO and MEO hybrid satellite solutions to all of the above within the designated Europe and ME region.

Primary Responsibilities/Key Result Areas:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans and account planning for customers in the assigned region:
  • Responsible for identifying, developing, closing, and managing new business opportunities in the designated region
  • Play a key role in constructing go-to-market strategies in the satellite sector with demonstrable experience of direct and indirect selling
  • Understand the value of ‘complex sales’ and be able to sell across every level to a diverse customer base
  • Have the confidence and experience to network and negotiate both at the “C” level in the portfolio of customer/partners
  • Build strong networks with internal stakeholders at Snr level in SES, in particular in areas that impact sales, which include operations, lead to order, global services, asset management, and solution engineering
  • Lead generation and identifying new opportunities:
  • Identify new areas of business and develop targeted sales solutions for exploiting the opportunities for further development
  • Identify customer requirements and act as a point of contact for existing and potential customers within the respective area of responsibility
  • Negotiate and close capacity and service contracts with prospects and accounts at the senior level
  • Develop responses in RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs and engage with customers accordingly
  • Coordinate, as appropriate, with internal stakeholders and other functions of the organization the support needed to close and develop the assigned strategic accounts
  • Regular reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis and travel/ country visits/ participate in marketing and networking events for lead generation
  • Possess and develop a high-level network of executives within the targeted sector and have good knowledge of the regional market and industry trends, and competitors
  • Account management and customer enablement engagement with the customer as well as following marketing trends and advise the business to adapt

Preferred Education & Experience (a combination of education and experience will be considered):

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years experience selling complex satellite services, ideally in the service provider, maritime and energy segments
  • Exceeding sales goals, closing skills, territory management, prospecting skills, negotiation, presentation skills, client relationships
  • Language skills: English, plus, German/French/Dutch (one of these would be advantageous)
