Internship - Constellations Modelling

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
SES is the first to operate a successful non-geostationary constellation that provides high throughput connectivity worldwide. Join the Constellations Modelling team and help us build software to understand the ins and outs of constellation performance in all our markets for the next-generation systems.
Based in The Hague (The Netherlands), you will be part of the team that develops features for an advanced software simulator that builds and evaluates demand and supply models for satellite communication constellations.

 

Extended Job Description:

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work together with the Constellations Modelling team in improving and running simulations of satellite communication architectures 
  • Execute end-to-end software engineering tasks: plan, design, develop, test, integrate and document new features
  • Support for users of the software
  • Maintain DevOps processes for Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) using cloud solutions
  • Maintaining the infrastructure of the system
  • Provide other ad-hoc support for various software related requests

 

YOUR PROFILE

  • Current student in relevant engineering or science track (e.g. Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or others)
  • Strong interest in technology, software, and telecommunications
  • Understanding the Object-Oriented Paradigm (OOP), Model View Controller (MVC) and Web technologies is required
  • Strong knowledge in either Python or Typescript
  • Knowledge and understanding of the following is considered a plus, but not required:
    • Software (Django, Angular, Basic knowledge of Linux usage/admin, Docker and docker-compose, HTTP and WebSocket protocols, database management)
    • SatCom basics (Satellite constellations, link budgets, orbital mechanics)
