(Senior) Manager Platforms Optimization (Cruise)

The Manager Platforms Optimization (Cruise) works as part of the tenacious and supportive Asset Management & CTP (AM) team, being a key role in co-creating and implementing the industry innovative framework for the end-to-end Yield Management for Cruise managed services including the groundbreaking O3b mPOWER products. In this role you will proactively advise on potential improvements within areas of focus such as: products modification, space segment optimization, third party capacity usage, platform optimization, number of gateways etc. for Cruise managed services, but also manage and coordinate the mobility assignment plans and coordinate with Gateway Services, Network Planning to ensure sufficient resources and equipment are available on the ground segment.


You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):

  • Provide constructive feedback to Platform & Service Architecture for Infrastructure planning (ground hardware and software) or modifications / networks requirements to optimization and maximize the end-to-end yield on Cruise managed platforms including O3b mPOWER 
  • Observe and evaluate the Global Services on product implementation and customers provisioning to ensure successful realization of the expected yield from Cruise managed services  
  • Coordinate with the team to develop future yield and resource management tools, taking into account developments towards automation
  • Create and optimize the mobility assignment plan and coordinate with relevant engineering teams (Solutions Engineering, Systems Engineering) and customer-facing teams (Maritime Sales, SSL/CSM, SMM), resulting in change requests to the current service parameters
  • Contribute to the Satellite Hub and other capacity and platforms reports, which are tools used by Sales on a daily basis as a first insight into what inventory they have to sell





1. Must Have

  • Engineering bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) or demonstrable equivalent work experience in lieu of formal qualifications
  • 8 years professional experience with 3 or more years in capacity management and/or optimization of networks
  • Technical knowledge of platform technologies, satellite technology, satellite network operations and earth stations 
  • Experience with applying statistics to derive insights
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English


2. Nice to Have

  • Computer literacy, with solid Excel and database knowledge 
  • Python coding experience including working experience with packages such as numpy, pandas, matplotlib or plotly
  • Databricks experience and Azure experience
