(Senior) Engineer, Platforms Optimization & Yield Management (O3b mPOWER)

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Senior Engineer is part of the Asset Management (AM) team and is directly involved in managing and proactively coordinating the end-to-end realisation and yield management of O3b mPOWER product mix and resources assignment plans. In this position you will contribute to the development of the tools needed to effectively manage O3b mPOWER resources and product mix yield, as well as to evaluate the ability to support new and existing opportunities

You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):

  • Sign off commercial or technical change requests can proceed (refers to changes not needed for ongoing maintenance / within scope of current product offerings) e.g. change to SLA based on customer request, or technology change, more efficient use of resources etc.
  • Provide feedback to Platform & Service Architecture for Infrastructure planning (ground hardware and software) or modifications / networks requirements to optimization and maximize the yield of the o3B mPOWER product mix
  • Optimization of O3b mPOWER satellites constellation and gateways resources to enable Sales to meet their revenue targets
  • As part of Emergency Response Team contribute to the AM input to complex (e.g. spacecraft failure) contingency and restoration activities
  • Contribute to the Satellite Hub and other capacity and platforms reports, which are tools used by Sales on a daily basis as a first insight into what inventory they have to sell

 

 

YOUR PROFILE:

 

1. Must Have

  • Engineering bachelor’s degree or demonstrable equivalent work experience in lieu of formal qualifications
  • 5 years professional experience with 3 or more years in capacity management and/or optimization of networks
  • Technical knowledge of platform technologies, satellite technology, satellite network operations and earth stations
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken

 

2. Nice to Have

  • Passion for ingenuity – have a proactive approach toward complex tasks related to optimization of the utilization of the SES in-orbit assets
  • Master in engineering would be a plus
  • Databricks and Azure experience
