Junior Analyst, SMI, Americas & Global Analytics, Video

We are currently looking for a qualified candidate to assist our Strategy & Market Intelligence Team across the Americas. You will work alongside a team using the latest analytic tools and processes to deliver unparalleled service and support. In this role you will troubleshoot and investigate data anomalies and issues along with working cross-departmental to provide insights in today's growing market.

Extended Job Description:


  • Be SMI`s main interface to all relevant SES stakeholders (Sales, Market Development, Marketing…) in the Americas
  • Provide tactical and strategic support to these stakeholders based on competitive-, customer- and market monitoring, analyses and insights concerning SES` Video business
  • Develop and maintain tools, processes and databases to strengthen competitive-, customer- and market intelligence and as basis for tracking and dissemination of trends and developments
  • Support SMI in providing market- and competitive assessments relevant for SES’s future satellite investment/replacement programs to the Fleet Development team
  • Support the SMI Manager, Global Analytics, Video in the day-to-day handling of (i) Satellite Monitor and (ii) Channel Count projects, helping to ensure quality of research and outputs, and timely delivery and impactful internal/external communication of the results
  • Support the SMI Manager, Global Analytics, Video in managing the Insights Dissemination (MI Portal) as well as the Data Visualisation experience for SMI including analysis-based interactive dashboards that serve all SES`s business segments



  • Business Degree, ideally MBA in combination with an additional technical/engineering degree
  • First professional experience, preferably in data analytics in a media/video/satellite/broadcasting/telecom’s environment
  • Strong experience of building market intelligence reports and dashboards
  • Grounding in primary and secondary market research techniques, tools and sources
  • Experience in the media/video/satellite/broadcasting/telecoms industry is a strong plus
  • Computer literacy, especially Excel, Access, PowerPoint, PowerBI
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Portuguese; the knowledge of other languages (esp. Spanish) is considered an additional asset.
