Team Leader, Playout Engineering

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

You manage the Playout Engineering team with a focus on service delivery and engineering aspects.

You plan, implement, document and operate playout engineering services to meet existing as well as new customer requirements.

The role works closely with other technical departments such as Pre- and Post-Sales, Software Engineering and Operation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Coach and mentor the Playout Team Engineering team by encouraging team spirit albeit maximizing operational efficiency
  • Foster a common mindset of skills in terms of structured way of working, persistence, networking, creative+ reliable problem solving and self-motivation
  • Development of reference setups for playout / origination services and assessment of implementation options, with a focus on a global, scalable, automated set-up
  • System design and implementation of technical infrastructure on the basis of state-of-the-art technology
  • Optimization of existing technical processes
  • Design and cost calculation of technical services
  • Reporting of relevant KPIs
  • Budget management
  • Preparation and validation of requirements and solution documentation (statement of work) for customer projects
  • Support of project management with implementation and quality assurance in complex projects, e.g. solutions distributed across multiple facilities and departments

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • University degree in Engineering, Media Technology alternatively
  • Minimum five years working experience in a similar position
  • Strong leadership experience
  • Strong experience in working with IP technology and audio/video solutions
  • Fluent English language skills, German language skills is considered as an asset
