Solutions Architect, HD PLUS

Role Description Summary:
The Solutions Architect will research, design, and map out solutions to complex and technical issues, ultimately creating technical requirements outline for prospective projects. The position holder will design system architecture, support infrastructure, provide software recommendations, and need to be highly skilled in application and infrastructure troubleshooting.

Do you have…? 

  • At least 3+ years of working experience in one or multiple IT areas.
  • Proven experience in software engineering and software architecture design.
  • A good understanding of software design principles and microservice architecture.

 


Primary Responsibilities/Key Result Areas: 

  • Building and integrating technical solutions to meet the company’s needs.
  • Assessing the systems architecture currently in place and working with the system to recommend solutions to improve it.
  • Resolving technical problems as they arise.
  • Providing supervision and guidance to development teams.
  • Continually researching current and emerging technologies and proposing changes where needed.
  • Informing various stakeholders about any problems with the current technical solutions being implemented.
  • Assessing the business impact that certain technical choices have.

Skills/Competencies: 

  • Ability to clearly communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical team.
  • Ability to manage working across concurrent projects at different stages of completion.
  • Ability to be flexible and deal with changing priorities and timelines/due dates.
  • Perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Enthusiastic about exploring new IT infrastructure and components.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently as required.
  • Ability to integrate into cross-functional and/or virtual project teams.
  • Strong interest on software validation and software quality.
  • High level of written and spoken German and good at written and spoken English.

 

Preferred Education & Experience (a combination of education and experience will be considered): 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, software engineering, computer science, or related field.
  • At least 3+ years of working experience in one or multiple IT areas.
  • Proven experience in software engineering and software architecture design.
  • Previous project management experience is advantageous.
  • A good understanding of software design principles and microservice architecture


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge/understanding of information management practices and standards, such as ITIL .
  • Knowledge and experience of Agile methodologies e.g. Scrum, Kanban.
  • Knowledge and experience of DevOps methodology.
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices and standards.
  • In-depth understanding of coding languages (Java, JavaScript).
  • Know-how in Azure Cloud would be beneficial.
  • Know-how in Atlassian Confluence, JIRA would be beneficial.
