Role description summary

The Segment Market Manager is responsible that SES Video becomes / continues to be commercially relevant for the dedicated segment – in this case all TMO ACTIVITIES. In addition, the incumbent ensures that SES Video has all required capabilities to fulfill it segment specific objectives.

Primary responsibilities / Key result areas

  • Detailed 360° insider expertise about the Telco/Mobile and Online Market globally, customer-classifications, health status, trends (technical and commercially), challenges, etc.
  • Detailed know how about existing SES TMO leads, customers, including our current and future role, commercials, issues, challenges
  • Development of a TMO specific STRATEGY (in sync with the overall video strategy) to outline our path to the future and secure a proper positioning as well as our right to play & win.
  • Perform – based on the strategy – a gap analyses between available and required SOLUTIONS (as bundles of relevant products)
  • Align corresponding product- as well as capability-requirements with Product Management and Consumer Electronics to ensure a consistent roadmap and execution
  • Own and manage a segment specific Budget and Business Plan (as part of the overall SES Video Budget/Business Plan)
  • Act as key interface to the segment specific commercial functions to provide solution specific pre-sales and G2M support and ensure a consistent segment specific procedure
  • Act as “Business Development” and project coordination function for own TMO (blueprint) projects

Qualifications & Experience

  • University degree (Master or similar)
  • Detailed knowledge of Telco, Mobile MNO and Online Player market, trends and priorities – especially regarding Video relevant activities/plans
  • Min. 10 years working experience in relevant role within an existing or potential TMO customer organization (priority on Online Organization or Mobile Operator)
  • High level of personal network to relevant MNO stakeholders in the global industry
  • Very strong insider knowhow of SES, its strategic positioning towards the customer and as a business
  • Business fluent English (spoken and written), proficiency in other languages is a plus
