Sales Manager

SES is hiring a Sales Manager to support the DACH region. Your main task will be to meet aggressive sales targets and generate new revenues in the designated region. The incumbent is expected to implement sales initiatives for key accounts as well as generating new leads and contracts. The incumbent will identify future customer requirements for an ever changing regional customer based and will select appropriate sales strategies to develop new business for the own customer group aligned with the sales team. A second task is to support HD+ through selling to or finding content partners to generate revenues and negotiating with broadcasters being part of the HD+ bouquet.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sell technical systems and solutions to new and existing customers within the region
  • Actively manage and progress prospects in sales funnel process, and ensure that marketing and business development activities are supporting the sales process
  • Negotiate and close contracts with prospects and accounts at senior- and also C-level
  • Generate and qualify leads, develop solutions, prepare proposals and make presentations to possible customers
  • Establish close relationships with tier 1 and medium size customers and accounts, with the aim of growing and developing them
  • Identify and prioritize business opportunities related to new products and services that add value to the customer’s and SES business
  • Coordinate within a multi-disciplinary team consisting of engineering, finance, legal, product, operations staff and HD+ to manage the various projects or customer issues

COMPETENCIES

  • Strong interpersonal, selling and negotiation skills with the ability to effectively make commercial offers, negotiate price variations and drive the sales process by personal engagement in key deals
  • Sound product knowledge, excellent networks and a proven commercial track record within the media industry
  • Very good presentation and communication skills as well as time management/priority setting ability
  • A high level of personal integrity and adhere to a strict code of conduct and personal behavior. Good commercial judgment and the ability to operate within a sometimes high pressure environment or under short time frames
  • Knowledge and understanding of the market and developments in the customer base.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor or Masters degree within Engineering, Marketing, Commerce or any other relevant area
  • Five to seven years’ experience, ideally in Media/Broadcast industry, Telecommunication Services or Satellite industry
  • Knowledge and proven track record of selling technical systems and solutions within the region
  • Sufficient technical knowledge to effectively market the Company’s products to the largely technical customer base
  • Fluent in English and German

 

OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time
