Project Manager, IVV, Satellite Systems, IRIS2 Programme Office
Munich (Unterföhring), DE Betzdorf, LU

PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION
IRIS2 is the new European Union secure satellite constellation. This project is the European Union's answer to the pressing challenges of tomorrow to provide secure connectivity services and enhanced communication capacities to the EU and its Member States. In addition, as well as to governmental users, private companies and European citizens while benefiting from ensuring high-speed internet broadband to cope with connectivity dead zones.
SES – together with other consortium partners and core members - was selected by the European Commission to build and to operate the IRIS2 multi-orbit satellite constellation.
The IRIS2 team enters next project phases, we seek and there is a strong need of support for all the activities around service provisioning and products that the system can offer in the future.
ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- The IVV Technical Project Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and technical oversight of Integration, Verification, and Validation (IVV) activities for satellite systems. The role ensures that spacecraft, payload, and ground interface requirements are fully verified and validated against customer, regulatory, and mission requirements.
- Acting as the bridge between systems engineering, AIT, product assurance, and programme management, the IVV Technical Project Manager ensures robust verification coverage, schedule adherence, risk control, and technical compliance throughout the satellite lifecycle—from design to launch readiness.

- Develop and manage IVV plans, verification control documents (VCD), and test matrices.
- Plan and monitor IVV schedules, milestones, and resource allocation in alignment with programme objectives.
- Coordinate internal and external IVV activities across payload, platform, and system levels.
Technical Coordination
- Interface with Systems Engineering to ensure clear, verifiable, and testable requirements.
- Coordinate verification activities across:
- Equipment level
- Subsystem level
- Spacecraft system level
- Ensure alignment between IVV approach and AIT flow (functional, environmental, and operational validation).
Test & Verification Oversight
- Plan and support integration and verification campaigns including:
- Functional testing
- Environmental testing (TV, TB, vibro acoustic, EMC)
- End to end system validation
