Engineer, 2nd Level Support Playout and Content Operations

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

 

The Engineer, 2nd Level Support is responsible for ensuring the continual stability and delivery of services in the 24/7 Playout as well as the Content Operations as per agreed SLA’s. In this position you will be monitoring the technical state of the architecture and performing actions to restore platform stability and service delivery, but also act as an interface between the day-to-day operations and the 3rd level support engineering function.

Are you in for the challenge?

 

You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):

  • Pro-actively monitor the health status and performance of, and provide technical support on, SES operated platforms, both locally and remotely, including but not limited to; Playout Automation, Video Servers, Graphic Devices & Compliance recording
  • Pro-actively monitor the health status and performance of, and provide technical support on, SES content workflows, including but not limited to; SES Order Management System & SES 360
  • Resolution of on-air impacting and technical incidents that affect SES service delivery
  • Raise and update incident tickets for on-air affecting and technical incidents through Service Management tooling
  • Support of (special) Live broadcasting events
  • Technical monitoring of SES architecture using designated monitoring tools such as Dataminer, Elastic Search, Kibana, Grafana, Nagios, BMM & TAG
  • Collaborate with other 24x7 Operations roles and/or other engineers to resolve technical issues
  • Communicate shift reports internally and externally as per agreement with stakeholders

 

 

YOUR PROFILE:

 

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, etc.) or equivalent
  • Minimum 2-year experience in a multichannel, multilingual television broadcast facility
  • IT literacy and proficient in MS Office suite
  • Willingness to work in a 24/7 shift schedule  

 

Nice to Have

  • Thorough understanding of the fundamental principles of Broadcasting
  • Understanding of DVB standards
  • Proven team player, who relishes being part of a global team
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple time-sensitive tasks in a demanding environment
