Coordinator, Datacenter

You as the Datacenter Coordinator Munich are a key member of the Munich Facility Management team. You are the first point of contact for all Munich employees for any datacenter/installation matters. You either handle these requests autonomously or escalate them to the supervisor as appropriate. You coordinate and where needed provide hands-on services to the team in the day-to-day local datacenter management activities as well as the participation in international projects.


Extended Job Description:





  • Optimize, exploits, manage and secure the physical technical Infrastructure of datacenters
  • Floor Management: Planning, installing, racking, stacking and cabling (UTP, Fiber and Coaxial) of IT equipment in 19-inch computer cabinets (hands-on)
  • Develop and maintain datacenter documentation and provide advice as a Technical Authority
  • Ability to read and create technical plans in design software such as Autocad
  • Serve as a Data Center liaison with Network, IT, DVB, Content Management, RF, Playout etc. for collecting project requests
  • Autonomously manage installation projects by providing both hands-on experience and services and project management capabilities
  • Supervise and coordinate external resources in case of project execution
  • Detail focused when completing records, tickets and supporting documentation
  • Mentor, coach, train and guide other colleagues to deliver quality datacenter service
  • Service Life Cycle Management: (legacy) decommissioning, consolidation and remediation; e.g. end of life/support (technical) equipment, old cabling, old hardware, etc.
  • Good level of knowledge about monitoring the datacenter environment and critical assets



  • Several years of relevant work experience, ideally within Data Centre Operations in a colocation or critical facilities environment
  • Strong attention to technical detail, operational hands-on, flexibility, tactical (technical) overview and (project) reporting
  • Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Deliver on time and with high quality results
  • A proven team player at ease with sleeves rolled up approach
  • Ability to actively seek / listen to feedback from internal customers and address them appropriately, providing input to supervisor for assisting the continual improvement in service
  • Capacity to proactively solve problems for avoiding unnecessary escalation to supervisor
  • Ability to autonomously manage work practices in accordance to established and agreed procedures
  • Positive customer-oriented attitude and professional image
  • Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills



  • Specialised qualification in Electrical/Networking/Video
  • Several years of experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency in MS office tools, e.g. PowerPoint, Word, Excel as well as AutoCad
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in German and good knowledge in English
