PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
IRIS2 is the new European Union secure satellite constellation. This project is the European Union's answer to the pressing challenges of tomorrow to provide secure connectivity services and enhanced communication capacities to the EU and its Member States. In addition, as well as to governmental users, private companies and European citizens while benefiting from ensuring high-speed internet broadband to cope with connectivity dead zones.
SES – together with other consortium partners and core members – has been selected by European Commission to build and to operate the IRIS2 multi-orbit satellite constellation.
As the project enters its next phase, our team is expanding to support the development of future services and products enabled by the IRIS2 system. We are now seeking skilled professionals to help shape the service provisioning landscape and ensure the successful deployment of cutting-edge satellite connectivity solutions.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a Process Methods and Tools (PMT) Manager to define, lead, and continuously evolve the strategy for process development and tool implementation across the IRIS2 programme.
As PMT Manager, you will design and maintain an integrated framework of processes and digital platforms supporting engineering, configuration control, product assurance, programme management and supplier coordination. As the leading expert, you will guide a multidisciplinary team, foster collaboration and innovation while ensuring alignment with company objectives and industry standards.

As a Project Manager, Process Methods & Tools, IRIS2 Programme Office, you will be responsible to:
- Define and own the organization’s PMT strategy, ensuring alignment with programme objectives, customer and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the selection, deployment, integration and maintenance of tools supporting process execution and collaboration.
- Ensure process and data model consistency across system engineering, product assurance, configuration management, supply chain, testing and programme control domains.
- Lead and develop a team of PMT specialists, promoting a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation.
- Partner with Engineering, IT, Program Management and industrial partners to ensure seamless integration of processes and data flows across the extended IRIS2 ecosystem.
- Establish and oversee PMT governance, ensuring consistency, scalability, and adherence to the IRIS2 programme.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, IT or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of experience in process, methods, or tools management within aerospace, defense, or a similar regulated industry.
- Experience in people leadership and team development.
- Strong knowledge of engineering lifecycle management, configuration management, and process optimization.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, with proficiency in additional European languages a plus.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with enterprise PLM/ALM platforms and digital collaboration ecosystems (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter, Jama, Jira, Confluence, Git-based workflows).
- Experience applying Lean, Agile or Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches in aerospace development.
- Knowledge of industry standards (AS9100, ISO 9001, EIA-649) and quality management principles.
- Certification in project management or process excellence (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma, CMII).

OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS / COMMENTS
- Eligibility for ESA/EU SECRET personnel security clearances is essential. Candidates must be prepared to undergo a security clearance procedure, as this position may require holding such a clearance
- Willing to work at least 60% onsite from office
- Travel as required for project realization purposes and on-time delivery of major program milestones
