(Senior) Engineer, Full Stack Development

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
SES Germany is looking for a Senior Engineer with a Full Stack Developer set of skills, who will develop the existing codebase as well as design and deliver new solutions in cooperation with external Software development companies and contractors, including designing software architecture and selection of an appropriate server infrastructure and deployment and maintenance of developed solutions considering state-of-the-art technologies such as DevOps and CI/CD. In this position you will work on different projects, either with the team members and 3rd parties or independent, for developing Frontend as well as Backend applications, while working in a modern, agile software development environment with methods like SCRUM and KANBAN.

You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):  

• Selection of the suitable technology, based on technology know how but also respecting business needs
• Independent steering of third-party technology providers and consultants 
• Finding algorithm for development solutions
• Choosing software components and developing
• Setting up and monitoring project plans to fulfill product management’s timelines as lead in coordination with other departments 
• Reporting of project status to the management and other departments 

YOUR PROFILE:

1. Must Have

• University, engineering degree (TU or HS, with degree of M.Sc.) or an education in software developer or related field
• Advanced computer/programming skills: Deep knowledge about JavaScript (>= ECMAScript 5), Kotlin, Java, NodeJS (NestJS or Express), RDBMS and NoSQL
• Advanced knowledge of Server programming: Web application security, HTTP headers, session handling, etc.
• HTML, CSS, and/or CSS preprocessors like Sass or Less
• CI/CD like GitHub pipelines, Jenkins or Gulp
• JS libraries like ReactJS, Preact or React Native

2. Nice to Have

• Programming Linux Shell Scripts
• Docker and/or Kubernetes
• Design Pattern and bundlers like Webpack, Parcel or Vite
• DRM systems, HbbTV or OIPF
