ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
SES Aero has a unique opportunity for talent looking to grow in the Satellite Industry. Qualified candidates are those who have a technical background, have excelled in their past work experiences and are looking for the opportunity to transfer their skills into the complex world of Aero.

 

As a successful candidate, you will use your strong technical background and project management expertise to lead cross-functional teams in the development, management, and creation of Aero products.  In this position you will be accountable for one or more SES Aero services and responsible for the profitability of these services.  You will lead go-to-market strategy implementation, in line with the overall corporate strategy of SES and additionally be responsible for generating and presenting value propositions.

 

Extended Job Description:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Independently Assess the evolving AERO Mobility Market and its synergies with other mobility markets specifically including aero market for similar services for SES Govt. services.
  • Ownership of sub-segment aero products & Solutions development.  Includes highly complex problem resolution - develop new approaches to management of this – following best practices of all principles of product management
  • Defining and tracking KPI’s for success of Aero products, typically measured by sales, revenues, P&L and ROI on required investments
  • Manage the lifecycle and P&L of AERO products & solutions in cooperation with Services, Finance, Asset Management, Sales and P&S teams
  • Lead the development of investment cases for AERO Mobility products coordinating with direct team, finance, legal and marketing, to increase SES Networks service scope
  • Evaluate and integrate customers’ feedback into product development and innovation to remain in synchronization with the market
  • Stay totally in close synchronization with Development and Vendor management teams regarding product related relationships by ensuring the most competitive sourcing of technology and developments for the new products
  • Assist with developing go-to-market strategy for AERO Mobility products and solutions
  • Developing specific customer opportunities with Sales and Business Development for new customers and applications within the Segment, lead product introduction and support the product branding/marketing campaign
  • Final review of the pricing strategy of the new AERO products
  • Initiate, prepare and lead AERO product/solutions training activities; organize workshops across SES Networks key offices
  • Promote awareness and create demand for relevant products and solutions through customer visits, independent speaker opportunities, product demos etc. at global events, conferences, and other suit-able occasions, support Global AERO Sales colleagues in customer meetings as required

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s (or Higher Degree) in Telecommunications or Engineering related field
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in satellite communications, services and/or aviation connectivity
  • Deep understanding of satellite communications and HTS technology to design products accordingly
  • Strong technical understanding of evolving AERO and On-the-move Applications and IT Operations
  • Knowledge of E2E services requirements for IFC and IFE solutions and how we could integrate into   our customers
  • Working knowledge of network architecture, IP routing and functionality, VoIP, video conferencing, mobile networks and applications
  • Willingness to travel internationally
