Senior Engineer, Technical Product Manager

As the Engineer, Technical Product Manager, you will scope, define, and plan all aspects of global communication service using immediate and future O3b mPOWER system capabilities as a central value premise. This role will be responsible for working with the O3b mPOWER Product Lead and Segment Market Managers to guide, define, and capture product and technical requirements (PRD and ERD documentation). You will also be responsible for working with the Product Line Management team to guide and inform scope, schedule, and budget starting from market assessment and product definition through engineering, IT, and operational fulfillmen


Extended Job Description:



  • Capture, prioritize, and document product offerings vs. time with clear strategic premise against existing and future competition
  • Oversee scope, schedule, and budget with Engineering, IT, and Market Manager resources
  • Lead product and technical specification for service launch and post-launch updates (technical roadmap)
  • Lead market-premise testing methods to ensure product value premise is aligned with market behaviors, including anticipated competitive responses
  • Influence, develop, and document all elements required to deliver the service to customers from equipment supply and logistics to post-launch operational support (lead-to-order, provisioning, monitoring, reporting, billing, etc.)
  • Validate delivery, integration & test, and post-launch support for all the elements required in product delivery and operation working with relevant teams
  • Drive, develop, document, and report metrics of success/KPIs for product
  • Analyze market modeling data using large data sets to investigate/validate product premises and estimate performance
  • Present and explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Represent the company to internal and external stakeholders as an expert in mPOWER global communication services
  • Mentor and coach staff on the communication service strategy

  • Seniority will be based on experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience, Master’s degree and 5 years of experience, or Doctorate degree and 3 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related scientific/engineering field
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Moderate experience in defining and aligning product requirements across multiple elements of complex technical systems
  • Moderate experience with communications data service products including: CPE, Core Network Architecture, Provisioning, OSS/BSS integration, Orchestration, Monitoring & Reporting, and/or NOC/TAC/Field services
  • Proficiency with data-driven modeling & analysis (Excel, GIS, etc.)
  • Advanced proficiency in English, other languages beneficial
  • 20% international and domestic travel



  • Experience with product within competitive market structures in the satellite and terrestrial industries
  • Experience with HW Virtualization, particularly in cloud-based implementations
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
