Senior Engineer, Spacecraft Subsystem (Power/Thermal/Survivability)

SES Americom Inc. is looking for a Senior Engineer, Spacecraft Subsystem to join the diverse and talented Spacecraft Engineering department and ensure satellite health and safety is maintained all along its life cycle. In this position you have to be a team player, since you will be working a lot with your colleagues on providing six sigma satellite service availability by providing highly specialized engineering expertise in power, thermal and survivability in all phases of a satellite life cycle from satellite specification to build phase and operations and coach other members of the satellite engineering team when needed.

You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):

  • Develop and validate procedures and tools related to satellite operations
  • Analyse all satellite malfunctions and anomalous behaviour 
  • Support procurement to ensure satellite delivery compliant to or exceeding technical specifications
  • Contribute in new satellite design, manufacturing, test readiness, material and failure reviews
  • Ensure smooth integration of new satellites into the operation of the existing fleet
  • Keep track of modelling and parameter modifications to optimise satellite performances or adapt them to new business needs





1. Must Have

  • Master Degree in engineering
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in a satellite engineering assignment or equivalent
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
