Regional Logistics Manager, US

The core focus of this role is to drive, lead and manage the regional logistics strategy, design and capabilities to service our customer networks ensuring that we meet key SLA’s, through developing and implementing internal and external customer logistics operations KPI’s. This Regional Logistics Manager role is key within Supply Chain and starting with collaboration with the Material Sourcing Manager on equipment forecast, through to stocking, shipment, deployment, RMA and spare parts supply management, working closely with Segment Service leaders to implement services 1st time right. Contribute to the development, scaling and professionalization of Global Services (people, processes, tools) by pro-actively initiating as well as diligently supporting the development and implementation of projects and programs aimed at improving scale and performance and increasing execution capability.


Extended Job Description:



  • Coordinate logistics activities:
    • Work cross functionally with all relevant functions to ensure that all regional (sales) orders are delivered within agreed targets of delivery performance, compliant to the contractual agreements and within budgeted cost levels.
    • Supporting the opportunity funnel and signed order Logistics challenged for the regional team and being the Logistics SME for the region.
    • Organize & execute logistics activities for customer equipment shipments and SES Gateway/Teleport shipments in collaboration with the Requestor and/or Warehouse Manager, following internal processes and procedures.
    • Taking lead on complex orders for the region ensuring all the equipment allocation and shipping requirements are met.
    • Recommend optimal transportation modes in collaboration with Freight Forwarders on routing or frequency. Establish & monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems.
    • Provide requested reporting on inventory, shipment details and shipments in process. Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation and customer service logs.
    • Provide leadership in solving logistics challenges and improve processes specifically for the region.
    • Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements. Liaise with Legal team on compliance and trade regulations (import and export) into and out of USA as business directs.


  • Proactive communication with the Warehouse Manager, SSL’s, CSMs, vendors and external as well as internal customers to enable:
    • Orders to be correctly assembled and shipped
    • Production of documentation for purchase and delivery or drop shipments
    • Prioritization of customer equipment in collaboration with GLM and SSL team
    • Request and chase for regular updates from procurement on vendors purchase status and ETA’s of equipment deliveries


  • Service Logistics & Repair Operations
    • Manage shipments of spares replenishments for future replenishments of RMA material in collaboration with the CSM and customer for the return of equipment.
    • Review RMA orders as close to real-time as possible and make export license determination
    • Model revised logistics chain for movement of repaired items from repair vendor to spares depot and vice-versa

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Logistics management) or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of operational experience in international logistics (transportation, import/export, tax and contractual implications)
  • Experience developing strategic logistics solutions and optimizing networks with a clear understanding of shipment ordering systems, warehouse management systems and order variability systems
  • Extensive knowledge of industry best practices (warehousing / logistics / transportation)
  • Excellent command of MS Office package (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio)
  • Experience with ERP and CRM systems (preferably SAP)



  • Basic knowledge of Harmonized System and product classification experience
  • Spanish language skills
  • Excellent presentation, analytical skills
