Internship - Ground Platform Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Ground Engineering team in a fast-paced, global organization within an innovative and unique industry. Working remotely, you will contribute to design, engineer, and build our Skala global connectivity service.

Your responsibilities

• Automate parts for the Ground Platform Engineering life cycle including automated test cases
• Develop test plans to support the validation of MEO and GEO ground platforms to ensure they meet the technical, functional, performance, and business requirements
• Deploy ground systems in a lab environment, run test plans, and generate test reports
• Evaluate and recommend third-party test tools to aid with systems test efforts
• Drive technical defects and bug resolution with our partner vendor HNS

Your profile

• Being an advanced student in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or in a relevant technical area;
• Strong interest in the media/telecommunication business and technical interest in satellites
• Basic understanding of RF waveforms
• Basic experience with IP protocols, TCP, UDP, RTP, routing protocols, and switching
• Excellent analytical and judgment skills
• Experience with different programming languages (ie C, C++, C#, python, etc) is a plus
• Ability to set priorities and to work under tight deadlines
• Work independently as well as in a team
• Easiness to communicate at all levels
• Fluency in spoken and written English with additional languages considered an asset
