Ground Operations Intern
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the SES Technology Ground Infrastructure team in a fast-paced, growing organization within a dynamic industry. Based in Virginia, Manassas, you as a member of a global Gateway Operations team, provide a qualitative approach to continuously improving the experiences or our customers. You should be skilled at maintaining Gateway availability and providing customer continuity.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in optimizing key Business Processes applicable to SES Gateways and Teleports in conjunction with adjacent business functions and customer need
- Define, specify, and report on Key Performance Indicators applicable to Service Fulfilment and Service Assurance for SES Gateways and Teleports
- Monitor all Gateway elements including ground based large aperture Antennas, RF, Teleport Infrastructure, Network and terrestrial circuits and Control systems to assure mission critical traffic and customer connections are operational with minimal degradation or outages as specified in Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Participate in the daily health checks of the Gateways
- Gather, organize, and analyze large amounts of data with speed and accuracy as well as detect relationships and make decisions using sound methodical judgment
- Manage and plan GW infrastructure preventive and corrective maintenance and spare parts
- Drive adherence across all segments of the service delivery process
- Coordinate and monitor logistics operations and assist with optimizing logistics procedures within the department
YOUR PROFILE
1.You must have
- Current student in Engineering, Satellite Communication, Computer Sciences or in a relevant area.
- Very strong computer literacy (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Access).
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Able to work in United States (US-citizenship or valid work permit for US).
2. It would be nice if you had
- Knowledge of the Satellite or Telecommunications / Satellite industry will be a plus
- Technical support experience in the satellite or wireless communications industry
- Advanced knowledge and experience of Ground based Antenna systems
- Additional languages considered an asset
