CONTROLLER, SPACECRAFT OPERATIOS

(MANASSAS, VA - Onsite)

ROLE DESCRIPTION

As our Controller, Spacecraft Operations, you will be responsible for: (this is not an exhaustive list)

  • Recommend updates to Controllers for operational procedures 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve ground and spacecraft sub-system anomalies
  • Maintain operation activity schedule, deconflict requests, and assure materials are available 
  • Monitor spacecraft telemetry data, transmit commands as required and perform ranging operations

Additionally, you will complete a training plan that will allow you to obtain your Spacecraft Controller Ground System accreditation!  You will also have the opportunity to obtain additional accreditations per subsystem.  If you'd like to be a be a valued member of a team controllers and analysts that lead the 24/7 operation of the GEO/MEO satellite fleet ensuring all planned activities are executed in a timely and safe manner, please keep reading to submit your application!

 

YOUR PROFILE

Required

  • This position requires the candidate to access controlled technical data subject to US export control laws.  Therefore, only candidates who are US citizens (by birth or naturalization), legal US permanent residents (i.e., green card holders), US nationals, asylees, refugees, other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, or who can otherwise meet federal export-control authorization requirements, are eligible
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Engineering or similar
  • 2 to 4 years of work experience in telecommunications or a similar field 
  • Ability to work on 24/7 rotating shifts including days, nights, weekends, and public holidays 
  • Ability to work with short notice  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools

Preferred

  • Moderate experience with satellite and/or ground systems
  • Experience with Python, C+, HTML/CSS/JS, or other programming language
