Cloud Practice Product Manager, Edge

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
As a Cloud Product Manager within SES’ Cloud Practice, you will be the key team member forming and executing the larger SES strategy for satellite enabled cloud solutions. This role offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to help close the Global Digital Gap, bringing education and commerce to ultra-rural areas, supporting government sponsored humanitarian missions, and connecting everything from ships, planes, island nations, and the remotest users into the digital age.  The focus areas are on defining and bringing Edge Compute and Edge Cloud powered solutions to market to bring Cloud capability to satellite connected users.


You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):

  • Forming and communicating deep insights as relates to satellite-based Cloud and Cloud Enabled services
  • Analysing customer requirements for cloud infrastructure, cloud-based platforms, and cloud-based applications, with particular focus on Edge Compute powered solutions:  E.g., Network Services, 5G, IoT, Media, etc.
  • Working closely with major Ecosystem Partners (e.g., Cloud SPs, Technology Vendors, Solution Integrators) to define SatCom enabled Edge Compute solutions for key industries:  Telco/ MNO, Public Sector/Government, Enterprises
  • Defining, launching, and incubating an impactful portfolio of Edge Solution offerings – including the generation of Business Cases, Market Requirement Documents, Solution Descriptions, Commercial/Pricing Structures, and Sales Enablement tools (roadmaps, feature descriptions, value propositions, etc.) 
  • Owning and managing the product and service offerings from cradle-to-grave using industry convention Product LifeCycle (PLC) processes:  Introduction, Growth, Maturity, and Decline
  • Defining and tracking KPIs for portfolio success, typically measured by sales, revenues, P&L, and RoI on required investments.
  • Interfacing with and leading (by influence) a cross-functional set of internal functions including Product Management for other SES Markets, Technology/Engineering, Commercial Management, Suppliers, Partners, and Sales and Marketing in support of the SES Cloud strategy and business

 


YOUR PROFILE

1. You must have 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) or equivalent in either Engineering with focus on Networking/IT/Cloud Solutions, or Marketing with focus on Business Development
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the Telecom/MNO, SatCom or Cloud Service Provider industry in Product/Portfolio Management or Business Development.
  • Proven track record of successful product definition and launches for Telco/MNO, Cloud SP, Enterprise, and/or Satellite SP customers
  • Experience with processes for new product development, implementation & management including market trends/analysis, new product Introduction, product roadmap development, product life-cycle management
  • Experience in a multinational organization, covering strategic, technical, commercial and marketing aspects 
  • Fluency in English

 

2.    It would be nice if you had

  • Strong presentation skills, able to produce and present content in an inspiring manner to a variety of internal and external audiences
  • Business Development skills, able to balance near term tactics for revenue performance against strategic vision for sustainable growth
  • Knowledge of and skills in Enterprise IT/OT Digital transformations, especially as applies to Aero, Maritime/Cruise, Energy, Mining verticals
  • Knowledge of and skills in Government and Military Cloud and digital transformation strategies
  • Knowledge of and skills in Cloud Networking, Cloud Infrastructure, and/or Cloud based services and applications, especially as relates to how these leverage Edge Compute
  • Knowledge and skills of key cloud platforms and service catalogues, i.e., Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, etc.
