MCR Operator, Sports & Events

Your role will be to operate, configure, monitor, and support all SES Sports & Events global and domestic content distribution services including to perform occasional use services (uplink, downlink, conversion, turnarounds etc.) for our customers. Additionally, interaction with customers during live events and provide a high level of customer support.

Extended Job Description:

Your role will be to operate, configure, monitor, and support all SES Sports & Events global and domestic content distribution services including to perform occasional use services (uplink, downlink, conversion, turnarounds etc.) for our customers. Additionally, interaction with customers during live events and provide a high level of customer support.

 

Primary Responsibilities/Key Result Areas:

 

  • Configure, test and execute Sports & Events feeds via satellite, fiber or OTT
  • Maintain and operate high end technical equipment and troubleshoot and fix technical issues
  • Quality check feeds and recorded material to ensure it meets SES specifications
  • Customer support – initial point of contact for all SES clients during events responding via email, phone and monitoring systems
  • Supervise the functioning of technical components and make sure that they are active and problem free – troubleshoot as necessary
  • Accountable for managing events and ensuring that they are resolved while maintaining a detailed record of the problems and methods used to solve them
  • Clearly and accurately, document any issue or faults and communicate them to key parties

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical School Degree or Cert and/or equivalent experience (RF, Satellite, Video, Audio, and/or Electronics)
  • 3-5 years of experience of similar tasks
  • Strong computer skills required
  • Practical engineering experience an advantage
  • Experience with Broadcast Equipment an advantage
  • Technical or customer support experience an advantage
