ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

 

As the Senior Manager of Engineering, North America, you will be managing the operational and service integration aspects of the Content Distribution vertical and delivering engineering support to the Sports & Events department.

Extended Job Description:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Act as the primary point of contact for operational and project integration matters related to Content Distribution in the US
  • Manage the technical service integration and 24/7 3rd level support with respect to all aspects of content distribution and the related teams to ensure highest operational performance
  • Working on Root Cause analysis of issues / incidents impacting the customers and drive closure of action points   
  • Responsible for technical services on the Content Distribution and Sports & Events platforms
  • Responsible for the delivery of customer and internal projects via coordination with other relevant stakeholders both within & outside Global Services
  • Work with Global Program office Initiatives for driving the Technical aspects required for Optimization initiatives to ensure Video setup is as per latest Technology evolution and supporting cost effective operations
  • Identify and implement routine checks on technical systems; arrange prompt resolution of fault or anomalies to maintain a high level of safety and professionalism for employees and visitors
  • Manage operational and capital expenditure budgets as delegated under your control
  • Develop teams and individuals within the teleport to meet business objectives as well as improve processes to perfect efficiencies
  • Visible and serve as a role model for the business, fostering an innovative spirit among the teleport employees

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering required (Experience can be substituted for education)
  • 5 years minimum experience in telecommunication or satellite industry required
  • Vast knowledge in broadcast technologies- DVB, OTT video distribution
  • Experience in the networking arena, CCNA certification and other certifications are an advantage
  • Project Management experience for complex technical projects

 

OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS / COMMENTS

  • Available after hours to respond to issues which require escalation and reside in proximity to site to be available for direction to the team.
  • Willing to travel occasionally, internally in the US and abroad for exhibitions, customer meetings and visits to other company locations
