Engineer, RF & Ground Operations

ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Engineer, RF & Ground Operations to join our team in Israel Emek Ha'ela location. With this role, you will join the Ground Operations team, who are ensuring the efficient testing, veritfication and integration of ground systems, satellite terminals, M&C software systems as well as IP networks. You will also enable new services upon request for ongoing planning, executions, control and maintenance of technical uplink/downlink chains and antennas.

This role entails participation to the 24/7 on-call support.

You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):

• Develop test plans and methodologies, and conduct investigations and validation testing involving SES Networks’ MEO satellite links, modems, satellite RF ground equipment, M&C systems, telecommunications protocols, WAN/LAN technologies, and application layer performance
• Participate in, and lead the review of projects, design, and technology requirements to ensure clarity and testability
• Communicate updates to management by keeping project tracker systems up to date and preparing reports
• Design, implement, operate, and provide ongoing maintenance for SES Network’s satellite ground system test, which includes a diverse collection of modems, IF & RF equipment, radio & telecommunications traffic generators and link simulators, and computer & networking hardware and software
• Support system and test case automation, troubleshooting, and anomaly investigations
• Be accountable for procedure-based tools to support efficient operations and system sustainment
• Manage the M&C systems to observe the equipment and services more deeply
  • Tier 2 RF Troubleshooting & Ticket Handling
• Document & maintain the RF part of the company’s database

YOUR PROFILE

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology
• Minimum 1-2 years' of experience troubleshooting, operating and maintaining local and remote IF/RF, antennas and WAN/LAN equipment
• Fluency in English
• Strong knowledge of Telecommunications Satellite Ground Systems, including Gateways, Tele ports, Network & Satellite Operation facilities, and related technologies
• Knowledge of internet-based network connectivity principles and implementation
• Familiar with the agile testing process
• Understanding of data and RF network testing concepts
• Working experience with test equipment and platforms (RT Logic Link Simulators, Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzer, etc).
