ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

As a member of the Data Analytics team you will have the opportunity to join our dynamic Analytics Team where data drives decisions and insights fuel innovation. Your role will play a vital role in leading, developing and analyzing problem statements and data solutions that enable decision making for Intelsat data stakeholders. You will function as the point of contact for data analytics team and recommend best practices and storytelling with data.

As a qualified individual with diverse background, experience, values, and strong work ethic, you will technically lead the problem statements to implement data analytics and POC’s which support the strategic data/analytical objectives of Intelsat and our partners. You are assertive and inquisitive in your journey to understand customer requirements and existing environments to better translate these into dashboards or decks that meet data availability needs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS

• Utilizes rigorous programing and/or analytical tools to develop analytical solutions that conform both to customer requirements and information development standards.
• Collaborates with functional leaders and key stakeholders to define problem statement and business objectives, data collection requirements, and desired outcome(s) supported by advanced analytics.
• Own execution and delivery of advanced analytics projects including tooling/demos for end-users; provide regular releases to validate systems, iterate to improve solutions.
• Partner with business units to understand and assess new data sources (unstructured, semi-structured and structured) to improve existing features, modeling capabilities and overall solutions.
• Designs and builds self-service tools using a mixture of statistical and visualization techniques to derive actionable insight from the data to influence decision-making.
• Works as equals with Data Engineers, Quality Engineers, BI Developers and Business Analysts to establish optimal design/development/delivery which properly serves technical teams and our user community.  Identifies risks, tradeoffs, and investment decisions to facilitate best approach.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Economics, or related field).
• 5+ years of experience in data analysis, with a proven track record of delivering actionable insights to drive business results.
• 3+ years of experience in Data Science, Developing Machine Learning models.
• Significant experience with programming languages Python, R, SQL.
• Experience in data analysis and writing and developing complex queries using SQL.
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI or similar data visualization tools
• Strong understanding of statistical methods and techniques, including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and machine learning.
• Ability to work autonomously and with small cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong communication skills including technical documentation, development and delivery of demonstrations and presentations and the ability to listen and communicate effectively with functional leaders.

OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS / COMMENTS

• Master’s in computer science, Engineering, or Information Systems
• Experience with Elastic, Hosted Graphite, Grafana or similar data streaming and monitoring technologies.
• Experience in airline / aviation, internet, or telecommunications
