Senior Engineer, Integration
ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The position is delivering data integration solutions as part of an agile development team, with a special focus on accelerating the software development lifecycle and integrating and automating continuous software development and security practices and processes. The role involves end-to-end ownership of data platforms, collaboration on the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, and the integration of security practices into the software development lifecycle. The successful candidate will also implement monitoring tools for performance and security, contribute to documentation, and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of integrations. Strong expertise in Java web application stacks, Linux, and related technologies, along with excellent collaboration and documentation skills, are essential.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS
- Own data integrations end-to-end, collaborating with the other teams to design, develop, and deliver integrations that meet business and technical objectives.
- Identify opportunities to improve security, automation, efficiency, and adherence to SES standards and best practices within the development and operations lifecycle and implement tools and processes accordingly
- Install, configure, improve and manage Managed File Transfer platforms (MFT)
- Install, configure, improve and manage Java Application Servers
- Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
- Collaborate on the development, maintenance, and enhancement of CI/CD pipelines to automate the building, testing, and deployment of software, ensuring frequent and reliable releases.
- Understand the interactions between systems, applications, and services within the environment, and evaluate the impact of changes or additions
- Produce detailed engineering specifications
- Document and communicate best practices and secure configuration for our integration platforms
- Perform other tasks as required

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues across the entire stack

- Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral – including providing transparent feedback when tasks are unclear, proactively raising obstacles impeding progress
- Fluency in spoken and written English with additional languages considered an asset
- Knowledge of security testing tools
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
- At least 8 years of proven enterprise environment experience delivering DevOps and security-focused integration platforms
- Able to work on systems that process government project data hence NATO/EU/US citizenship is considered a strong advantage
