Senior Engineer, Data-driven Transformation

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

This is an opportunity for high-performance individuals who want to understand the whole picture of how digital and data-driven transformation affects businesses and shapes organizations. As part of SES’s global Data & Integration Services function, you’ll join the team driving the Data-Driven Organization (DDO) initiative of highly diversified and collaborative people, applying generalist problem-solving skills to strategic questions. You will have an opportunity to participate in the Digital Transformation of a Technology company by keeping a start-up mindset, problem-solving attitude, management consulting approach, and a passion for data-driven thinking. You will be on a mission to build, disseminate and support a strong data-driven decision-making culture in the company, enabling business efficiency and innovation. Data Science, Data Governance, Data Quality and AI will be key themes you get involved in.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS

• Supporting the development and execution of the transformation roadmap – strategy, planning, defining KPIs, process re-engineering, and driving tech-innovation.
• Supporting project management activities
• Leading the initiatives fairly independently staying responsible for end-to-end initiatives keeping the customer at the center and using lean start-up-based methodologies.
• Researching new solutions and help develop the thought leadership of the team by maintaining the key trends, technologies, and developments.
• Coordinating parts of the daily business and being the contact person for (internal and external) stakeholders.
• Supporting and leading change management activities of different kinds, primarily social media and content creation.
• Gathering and analyzing information, formulating and challenging ideas, and developing and communicating recommendations.
• Experiencing the end-to-end data pipeline. From identifying and integrating new data sources, through modeling and transformation to exploitation. Whether that be a business intelligence dashboard, data science research project, or predictive model.
• Hands-on activities on topics like Data Quality, Governance, Engineering, and Business Intelligence based on your background and interests.
• Engaging in bottom-up projects and supporting project delivery and operational activities.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Internationally recognized university degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• Have 3-10 years of experience working (preferred but not a showstopper):
  • with a consulting firm, ideally around digital transformation, data & analytics topics
  • in a corporate role focused on data & analytics, data governance, digital areas (e.g., business analyst)
  • in a tech start-up firm
  • or in a data-driven product company
• Experience with cloud-based Data Platform infrastructure and resources
• Proven technical hands-on knowledge of various technologies around data management, analytics, and AI
• Fluency in written and oral English. Other languages are considered as valuable assets
• Experience of working in an international business environment.
• An Azure certification is an asset especially within Data Engineering and/or Science.
• Knowledge about AI/ML and experience with applied AI solutions is an asset.
