Senior Analyst, Data Management & BI Reporting
ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Data Services team within SES has the mission to build, disseminate and support a strong data-driven decision-making culture in the company and to leverage data trends, products and services to create superior products, resolve complex data challenges and create business value. Data Science and Machine Learning is one of the key trends actively being pursued.
Must understand the challenges of the business and offer the best solutions using data analysis, modelling and data processing. This also includes performing predictive analysis and work with “unstructured/disorganized” data to offer actionable insights to help business user in making better decisions as well as be a leader for peers and supervise external consultants.
The responsibilities include educating business peers, framing business problems and challenges, developing data and machine learning models to the point they are deployable, and contributing to build our data landscape and capability including the administration and configuration of the data visualization tool i.e. Power BI Service as well as actively contributing to SES Data Governance initiatives and leading data management / analyze streams as part of this initiative.
This also means to ensure that the business reporting teams/developers who are preparing the core information for middle and upper management are getting the right information at the right time. Train support and enhance the business on those applications and tools to move them away from the very time-consuming manual reporting and data reconciling tasks. Establish a culture of continuous improvements in reporting standards across the company.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS
- Supporting, maintaining and administration of Microsoft Fabric Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, etc) including daily check of the logs and action to be taken in case of errors.
- Responsible for the maintenance and executing of the Power BI governance.
- Participate in the SES Data Driven Organization strategy.
- Continuous development of cloud data infrastructure and related models.
- Manage and supervise internal/external resources if needed during the development lifecycle.
- Manage and support Data & BI users across the company for data access and modeling if needed.
- Engaging with Business Process/Product Owners to define/evaluate process enhancements and translate user requirements into technical specifications to develop/deploy.
- Engaging with third parties for support.
- Coordinate and deliver user trainings.
- Manage small Data & BI projects.
COMPETENCIES
- Excellent Knowledge of Power BI platform including Gateway, Power BI Desktop, and knowledge of Power BI best-practices.
- Report building skills with Power BI.
- Knowledge with Power BI integrations with SAP BW and Azure Data Lake (using Databricks).
- Knowledge of Azure Databricks.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Internationally recognized university degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with MS Power BI.
- Experience with cloud-based Data Platform infrastructure and resources.
- Fluency in written and oral English. Other languages are considered as valuable assets.
- Experience of working in an international business environment.
- An Azure certification is an asset especially within Data Engineering and/or Science.
- Knowledge about AI/ML and experience with applied AI solutions is an asset.
OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS / COMMENTS
- A key area to work in will be the evolution of SES’s reporting and analytics in the domain of customer operations and customer SLA reporting. Key interfaces will be Customer Operations Managers, accuracy and timeliness of reporting as well as increased degree of end-to-end automation will be key performance metrics.
- Support worldwide business operations by working aligned with global time zones, which may be outside of typical local business hours.
- Willingness to participate in after-hours on-call rotation for business operations support.
