(Senior) Business Analyst, SAP Finance & Controlling

ROLE SUMMARY

 

We are looking for a skilled Business Analyst, Functional SAP Finance & Controlling to join our SAP Team. In this role, you are responsible for the efficient support and continuous improvement of the Finance & Controlling, related IT Applications, for the SES group, including the continued delivery of functionalities for this domain, keeping consistency on the global solutions and participating on key transformational projects for the company. You are providing guidance to the SES internal customers for Finance & Controlling from an IT perspective, in design of solutions related to relevant processes.

With a strong focus on cloud-based solutions, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing new functionalities and enhancements to our business systems.

The incumbent will efficiently manage the evolutive and corrective requests on the active reporting toolset of the company, in a lean and directive way.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Ensure that our SAP Finance and Controlling Business Applications remains fully operational
  • Provide support on 2nd and 3rd level to our FI-CO user community
  • Provide support to SES Finance and Controlling Users and Global Process Owners
  • Analyze and resolve incidents related to SAP Finance & Controlling activities
  • Design and implement new functionalities by configuring the SAP system, ensuring continuous improvement
  • Monitor and support SAP FI-CO system (Idocs, batch job execution…) for Finance processes
  • Coordinate with team members (both internally and externally) to ensure the support of our SAP FI-CO solution
  • Perform business requirement analysis, solution design, required customizing and integration with other domains, related to FI-CO toolset, mainly SAP FI/CO modules
  • Building Functional Specifications, customize our SAP FI-CO Solution, preparing, and executing the test scripts, supporting the business customers in the User Acceptance Tests
  • Support the SAP Security team in the design of SAP Roles for FI-CO
  • Establish close cooperation and interface with the other Business Applications domains (Security, functional domains, Basis operations, Infrastructure, etc.)
  • Ensure a lean and agile way of working for the various initiatives on the domain
  • Ensure high quality delivery of solutions
  • Maintain a strong and transparent interaction with the different business stakeholders of the domain
  • Maintain a rigorous cross application management regime ensuring that all applications are documented, run on supported software, are secure in compliance with established IT policy and practice
  • Provide end user trainings
  • Ideate new initiatives to increase the value of the operations for the FI-CO domains
  • Remain up to date on the latest innovations on the market related to the FI-CO domains
  • Perform all other tasks in the area of expertise as required
  • Work closely with other SAP functional consultants to implement and deploy changes in SAP

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent, coupled with professional vocational training and qualifications
  • Strong, hands-on knowledge of and a minimum of 5 years of working experience with IT/SAP FI-CO, ideally in a similar position, or as an SAP FI-CO consultant in a Consulting firm
  • Minimum five years of professional experience working with SAP FI-CO software (preferably SAP S/4 related and cloud) and in implementing tools in large international organizations
  • Good knowledge of integration of FI with MM, SD and PM modules
  • Good understanding of taxes set up in Finance area
  • Exposure to European and USA clients and thus to statutory and legal reporting is an advantage 
  • Demonstrated hands-on technical skills on SAP FI-CO, and ideally other SAP modules like MM, SD, PM, PS, etc. or SAP Fiori
  • Demonstrated experience in new technologies related to SAP (S/4 HANA, Fiori, etc...)
  • At least a five-year hands-on experience in the analysis, design, development, deployment, and maintenance of software applications related to Finance
  • Proven track record in service support and implementation. Exposure to Service Management Tools like Service Now is an advantage
  • SAP Certification on SAP S/4 HANA Finance or equivalent is a plus
  • Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager (Charm) as an End-User
  • Knowledge of MS Azure DevOps as an End-User
  • Strong methodological knowledge (Agile Scrum preferable) and proactivity to deploy lean / agile methodologies
  • Good knowledge of Purchasing and Warehouse Management architecture and tools
  • Experience in deploying industry process standards such as ITIL and Cobit
  • Strong understanding of business processes and IT
  • Knowledge of the specificities of the satellite industry is a plus
  • Fluency in English, any other language is considered as an asset
