SAP Accounting Specialist

 

 

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

 

The SAP Accounting Specialist should support day-to-day accounting activities, contributing to continuous improvement of both processes and systems (SAP ECC) and monitoring adherence to key controls, as an active participant in the accounting and finance operations of SES Group, supporting the accounting team.

In this possition you will develop your SAP and accounting operations process skills to become the go-to person for any accounting operations process or SAP FI related questions and will be responsible for daily accounting operations such as manual journal entries, reconciliations and master data maintenance compliance for Record-to-Report  ad hoc accounting-related projects such as Group restructuring and system optimisation.

 

You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):

  • Execute manual journal entries and account reconciliations, and prepare reporting and analyses
  • Maintain closing periods
  • Become a trainer of the accounting team on SAP procedures and keep training materials and operating procedure documentation up-to-date
  • Monitoring adherence to key accounting controls
  • Monitor and maintain the agreed key performance indicator dashboard in PowerBI
  • Be involved in a variety of accounting-related projects such as Group restructuring (creation, merger and liquidation of entities) and system optimisation (process automation, new SAP functionalities)  

 

 

YOUR PROFILE:

 

1. Must Have

  • Bachelor’s in Finance / Accounting, but with a strong interest in IT-related systems
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in accounting operations combined with SAP-FI related knowledge
  • SAP key user / Power BI experience is an advantage 
  • Fluency in English

 

2. Nice to Have

  • Analytical skills and appetite for data analysis
  • Team player who can take initiative, who is eager to learn and work efficiently
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly 
  • Experience in continuous improvement, business process management
