Specialist, Talent Sourcer

The job responsibilities outlined in this document are not exhaustive and may evolve over time and be reviewed according to business needs.

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

At SES, our ambition is to do the extraordinary in space — and we can only get there with extraordinary people. As part of our Talent Acquisition team, you will be at the heart of how we find, attract, and engage the talented individuals who make that ambition a reality.

We are looking for a skilled, proactive, and deeply curious Talent Sourcer to join our team in Bucharest on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a specialist sourcing role — not a generalist recruiting position. You are the expert at the top of the funnel: mapping talent landscapes, building pipelines ahead of demand, and turning hard-to-reach passive candidates into enthusiastic prospects.

In this role, you will own talent sourcing strategies across Europe and occasionally globally, supporting high-growth technical areas such as cyber security, software engineering, or cloud infrastructure. You will bring genuine market intelligence to the business — competitor insights, talent availability data, and compensation benchmarks — helping SES stay competitive in tough talent markets. You will manage multiple sourcing campaigns simultaneously, collaborate closely with hiring managers and HR colleagues, and ensure every candidate interaction reflects the SES brand at its best.

If you love the detective work of finding talent others can’t, thrive on data-driven strategy, and want your work to directly fuel the growth of a company operating at the frontier of satellite technology, this role is for you.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS

  • A strategic sourcing role leveraging your research expertise to map talent landscapes and build proactive pipelines for key technical areas across Europe and beyond
  • Ownership of multiple international sourcing projects, directly shaping how the business accesses talent in competitive technical markets, including cyber security, software engineering, and cloud
  • Partnering with Recruiters and Hiring Managers to deeply understand team growth plans and building talent pipelines in anticipation of future demands, not just reacting to open roles
  • Providing live market intelligence — talent availability, competitor mapping, and location-specific compensation benchmarks — to help the business make informed, data-led attraction decisions
  • Responsible for top-of-funnel excellence: proactive and diverse candidate search, outreach campaign design, initial screening, and seamless handover to the recruiting team, ensuring pipeline quality and velocity
  • Actively building and maintaining strong candidate relationships, creating genuine interest in SES opportunities and nurturing talent communities for high-demand skill areas
  • Acting as a brand ambassador for SES, instinctively and authentically conveying what makes SES an employer of choice — particularly to passive candidates who are not yet actively looking
  • Acting as the market intelligence expert for your technical specialisms, challenging assumptions and bringing external data to hiring conversations to influence role design, levelling, and location strategy
  • Delivering an outstanding candidate experience at every touchpoint — your first interaction often shapes a candidate’s entire perception of SES
  • Serving as a trusted partner to Recruiters and HRBPs, sharing real-time sourcing insights, flagging market constraints early, and recommending process improvements
  • Contributing to employer branding initiatives, talent events, university partnerships, and professional community engagement to increase SES’s visibility in key talent pools
  • Building and maintaining sourcing partnerships and external networks that expand SES’s reach into passive and underrepresented talent communities
  • Understanding the dynamics of operating within a global company and how targeted, intelligent sourcing directly contributes to SES’s strategic growth objectives

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven track record as a specialist Talent Sourcer or research-focused Recruiter, with a minimum of 4 years of hands-on sourcing experience within the technology industry, including demonstrated ability to run multiple concurrent sourcing campaigns across different technical domains
  • Specialisation in one or more STEM disciplines, with the ability to quickly understand technical role requirements and translate them into targeted, effective sourcing strategies
  • Demonstrable experience designing and executing proactive talent mapping and pipelining strategies in the tech sector, with a strong emphasis on passive candidate engagement and data-led market intelligence
  • Expert-level proficiency in LinkedIn Recruiter and a broad range of sourcing tools, Boolean search methodologies, talent intelligence platforms, and candidate engagement techniques
  • Proven ability to deliver actionable market insights — including talent availability, competitor landscape, and compensation benchmarking — to inform hiring strategies and business decisions
  • Experience contributing to employer brand visibility through events, community engagement, and sourcing-led outreach initiatives

PREFERRED / NICE TO HAVE

The following will be considered a significant plus:

  • Experience sourcing for leadership or non-technical functions in addition to deep technical profiles
  • Prior sourcing experience supporting satellite programs across MEO, GEO, and/or LEO segments
  • Familiarity with satellite manufacturing processes, including assembly, integration, and testing (AIT), enabling effective identification and assessment of relevant candidate profiles
  • Working knowledge of satellite subsystems — such as payload, propulsion, power, thermal, and avionics — sufficient to engage in technically credible conversations with specialist candidates
  • Experience identifying talent within high-volume or scalable satellite production environments
  • An established network within the aerospace, space technology, or satellite communications sectors
