ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
SES Romania is looking for an Asset Accountant to be part of the Asset Accounting team, which is responsible for maintaining the financial records for Property, Plant and Equipment (PP&E). The SES Groups makes very significant investments in PP&E to support the development of its satellite fleet operations and associated technical and commercial activities. As such, the Asset Accountant will work closely with other Finance departments (such as Tax and Controlling) as well as with the Engineering, Procurement, and Logistics teams.
You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):
- The CAPEX project approval workflow ensuring that the capitalization criterions are met and that the required information to facilitate the asset lifecycle management is to hand
- Creating and maintaining asset master data. Liaising with the internal stakeholders to ensure the master data is correct, complete, adequately structured and componentized
- Recording asset transactions such as transfers, retirements and manual value corrections
- Performing monthly closing activities including providing summary reporting for asset balances, additions, retirements, and disposals
- Collaborating with the record-to-report team to ensure proper alignment between the asset ledger and the general ledger
- Preparing and reviewing KPI’s and taking required actions to meet targets
- Supporting Internal Control activities related to Asset Accounting like asset inventory-taking activities
- Supporting the external and internal audit processes as well as addressing periodic reporting obligations (for example in connection with tax or regulatory obligations)
YOUR PROFILE
Must Have
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in accounting or equivalent
- 3+ years’ experience in a corporate accounting environment or relevant public accounting experience
- Experience using SAP ERP systems to document and research financial transactions
- Process improvement, best practice oriented
- Detail-oriented, able to work independently and check own work
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to build relationships cross-functionally and internationally to facilitate efficiency of work
Nice to Have
- Fluency in German, both written and spoken
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural and remote team environment
