Role Description Summary:

You will ensure a consistent and successful approach of Project Management to be followed by the Project Managers / CSMs / other functions across Global Services along with other relevant functions within SES and 3rd parties, Ensures a standard methodology approach using tools and templates developed by PMO Governance function. The role ensures a unified framework for monitoring and reporting, assures on-time delivery and on budget, using the Right First Time for all Video projects.

The Senior Manager role uses, directs, and communicates the appropriate use of the PMO framework to drive all Project Team stakeholders (including Finance, Engineering, CSMs, etc) to ensure the business can deliver on the strategic objectives. This role facilitates the management of constraints to ensure On-time delivery, within budgeted cost & quality of various projects across key Strategic Video Programmes

You will closely manage project management resources, project accounting, regular communications, inputs to the development of project tools & templates. This role requires technical expertise in the Video domain and an understanding of the latest technological developments in the Video Industry. Strong experience in managing external strategic partners/vendors who have a bigger scale of operations & business than SES is key to the role.

Primary Responsibilities/Key Result Areas:

  • Planning: Ensure a standard methodology approach to Programme and Project Management, ensuring clear scope definition, resource planning, and allocations, setting and managing of key milestones, mitigating risks, and achievable deliverables across Strategic Video Programs. Ensure there is a Project charter containing clear scope, RACI, objectives, and deliverables along with creating an auditable history of regular reports, sharing organizational knowledge
  • Implementation: Provide full PMO support for these key Strategic Video Programmes, ensure the individual projects are executed according to plan, and reviewing the quality of deliverables throughout the Programme. Keep Executive Stakeholders frequently up to date about the status of all sub-projects.
  • Governance: Ensures adherence to the defined service delivery process, ensuring decisions are taken by the right people, based on the right information. The governance role includes audit or peer reviews, developing project & program structures, and ensuring accountability for activities taken.
  • Communication: Drive respective component demarcations and responsibilities to all stakeholders, providing consolidated Weekly Status Reports to Programme Steering Board and Executive Stakeholders and facilitating regular internal and external review calls.
  • Controls: Using PMO Tools to enable a standard approach for monitoring, documenting, steering, and reporting on progress to relevant stakeholders
  • Transparency: providing information with a single source of the truth. Information should be relevant and accurate to support effective decision-making
  • Financial: Provide regular financial Project Costing KPI’s supporting the tracking and consolidation status to both senior management and all stakeholders.
  • Measures: Assign and manage team objectives, ensuring they are in line with overall company objectives, gathers feedback for lessons learned to improve processes, and regularly review for continued relevance and on target for achievement
  • Subject matter expertise: Subject matter lead for Strategic Video Programmes under GPO

Preferred Education & Experience (a combination of education and experience will be considered):

  • 10 + years’ Program Management and Leadership experience
  • 10 + years experience in relevant vertical industry media, digital or telecommunications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent level of industry experience
  • Knowledge of project methodologies, like Prince2, ITIL, Scrum, or equivalent
  • Good command of PM tools and MS Office package (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio)
  • Able to adapt to new IT tools and technologies
  • Language skills: English; any additional languages would be beneficial
  • Collaboration: establishes and maintains good working relationships; is cooperative and helps when needed while demonstrating an open-minded attitude. Shows an ability to work with and rely on others to achieve common goals, shares information. Values the contribution of others
  • Ability to think outside the box to overcome problems with a solutions focussed approach
