Engineer, Product & Application Monitoring & Management

Role Description Summary


As a PAMM Engineer you will be part of the Product Application Monitoring & Management team, which is primarily responsible for the ongoing monitoring and L1/L2 technical support of mPOWER service orchestration systems and applications. In addition, you will be responsible for monitoring orchestration and fulfillment workflows, identifying anomalies and executing/coordinating recovery actions according to predefined Operational Level Agreements. The support process will involve you in incident management, handling of user and vendor escalations, as well as knowledgebase management.


Extended Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities / Key Result Areas


  • Monitor orchestration system health and performance
  • Provide first and second level support and assistance to internal application users, and react quickly to system anomalies and perform prompt recovery actions
  • Analysis, troubleshooting and resolution of orchestration and automation fallouts 
  • Analysis and collection and relevant troubleshooting data to enable escalation to the development/configuration team
  • Analysis of application performance versus business requirement resulting in proposals of optimization actions
  • Management of application configuration, software upgrade, patch procedures and critical operational data
  • Evaluation, testing, deployment, and maintenance of custom and third-party software applications
  • Active development of a knowledge base and ‘Known Error Database’
  • Development of training material, operating procedures, and troubleshooting procedures, as well as provision teaching/training to the 24x7 operational teams, and to other groups across the organization




  • Good knowledge of OSS tooling, systems monitoring methodologies and best practices
  • Experience of AMDOCS and Microsoft Azure OSS environments an advantage
  • Experience of regular NOC activities, ticketing, escalation, problem resolution, service restoration
  • Knowledge and experience of event management tooling
  • High-level knowledge of orchestration tooling
  • Experience with Amdocs software products (ideal but not essential)
  • Self-motivated and able to deal well with ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities
  • Demonstrates a customer-focused business led approach
  • Excellent team player
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent presentation & communication skills (written / oral)



Qualification & Experience


  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Satellite Communication, Computer Sciences or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years’ professional work experience
  • Technical support experience in the satellite or wireless communications industry an advantage
  • Excellent command of Microsoft applications (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Word)
  • Knowledge of the Satellite or Telecommunications / Satellite industry will be a plus
  • Fluency in English, any other language is considered as an asset
