As the Manager, Service Orchestration Systems, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers tasked with the configuration, management and monitoring of SES service orchestration applications. Your primary responsibilities will include configuration and management of SES products and services within the AMDOCS automation and orchestration environment. The engineering team will be responsible for application ecosystem and orchestration/fulfillment workflow monitoring and support. The team will also be responsible for providing user support & guidance, performing incident/problem management and day to day vendor coordination/escalation.

Role Description Summary

 

The Manager, Service Orchestration Systems, will be responsible for leading a team of engineers tasked with the configuration, management and monitoring of SES service orchestration applications. Primary responsibilities include configuration and management of SES products and services within the AMDOCS automation and orchestration environment. The engineering team will be responsible for application ecosystem and orchestration/fulfillment workflow monitoring and support. The team will also be responsible for providing user support & guidance, performing incident/problem management and day to day vendor coordination/escalation.   

 

Primary Responsibilities / Key Result Areas

 

  • Manage a team of SES engineers and their respective tasks day to day
  • Manage embedded vendor resources for a defined period
  • Manage team deliverables, timelines, priorities, and resources
  • Maintain a high level of engagement in SES digital orchestration initiatives
  • Organisation of testing, demos, and training activities
  • Manage SES end to end service fulfillment capabilities – both automated and manual
  • Ensure that production systems under group responsibility are fit for purpose and highly available
  • Provide inputs to Department heads for administrative and management tasks
  • Follow and apply established performance management processes for the team
  • Manage team deliverables with a high degree of autonomy and professionalism
  • Build and maintain a strong relationship with OSS/BSS stakeholders
  • With your team drive automation/orchestration capabilities across SES with the goal of increasing operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • Maintain a high level of engagement with core SES programs in the Networks and Video domains

  • Technical support experience in the wireless communications industry or similar
  • Proven track record in team management/service delivery/engineering

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to cope with stress peaks and tight timelines
  • Ability and willingness to delegate technical and administrative tasks
  • Excellent command of Microsoft applications (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Word)
  • Knowledge of Telecommunications / Satellite industry
  • Fluency in English, any other language is considered as an asset  

 

 

Qualification & Experience

 

  • Advanced Technical Degree in IT and/or Telecommunications (BAC +5)
  • 5 to 7 years’ combined experience in a management/operations/engineering role
  • Experience of regular NOC activities, ticketing, escalation, problem resolution, service restoration
  • Tele Management Forum (TMF) qualified (having studied a range of TMF training classes be-yond foundational training)
  • Practical experience of TMF business process and information modelling
  • Good understanding of TMF based configuration and testing
  • Good knowledge of Product-Service (CFS, RFS)-Resource modelling based on TMF principles in the B2B context
  • Proficient in Product specification and configuration, Service specification and configuration
  • Experienced with Order and Service Management (Service Order Management)
  • Experience with system automation and orchestration techniques
  • Experience with Amdocs software products (ideal but not essential)
  • Self-motivated and able to deal well with ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities
  • Sound working knowledge of data orchestration system architecture, methodologies & interfaces
  • Proven track record in service support and implementation roles
