ROLE DESCRIPTION:
As part of SES Technology, the Space Operations Training team supports the Satellite Control activities by providing training to the controller team from the moment a new controller is hired (on-the-job) to the point when a controller is accredited (tested) to start solo operations. The Operations Training Team is also proving continuous training on all satellite subsystems and operational tools and system to enable the controller team to deliver best in class operations, outstanding health and safety monitoring, as well as prompt recognition and escalation of any satellite or ground anomaly.


You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of the Satellite Controller Training
  • In conjunction with the Senior Manager, SOC Training, be responsible and accountable for the Training and Accreditation of Satellite Controllers
  • Coordinate the training content and schedule and provide on-going guidance to SOC Controllers when required / requested
  • Provide Satellite Controllers continuous training from beginner to accredited level and ensure that they maintain the minimum defined knowledge in the following years
  • Lead or assist in providing training and certification for external SOC as defined in the statement of work
  • Support Satellite Engineering with the review and validation of new scripted procedures ensuring scripts are tested and understood prior to operational rollout. Coordinate with the satellite engineering team the roll-out of satellite operational changes in order to ensure that controller team is fully aware of the planned changes and trained on the new procedures prior to release


YOUR PROFILE

1. You must have 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience
  • Accredited on 2 or more satellite platform
  • Knowledge of satellite and ground systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience with virtual learning
  • Fluency in English 

 

2.    It would be nice if you had

  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours and work on shift a minimum once per month 
  • Communicate in a clear and succinct way, show patience for questions and people's different speed of understanding; adapt communication to the audience
