O3b mPOWER is SES’s next-generation Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellite-based communication system offering high-bandwidth, low-latency data connectivity services to under-served and mobility markets. Launching in 2021, the system will begin its service life in 2022. Building on the capabilities of our current O3b MEO system, O3b mPOWER expands exponentially to deliver thousands of dedicated services up to multiple gigabits per second. It provides more flexibility than any satellite-based system available today or planned for the foreseeable future.


The Software Engineer, Full Stack will develop operational software components and solutions for the automated remote control of the SES Ground Gateway systems.

Extended Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities/Key Result Areas:


  • Specify, design, develop, test and maintain operational software for the automated remote control of the SES Ground Gateway systems
  • Develop and execute automated BDD (Behaviour-driven development) testing
  • Develop high-quality, comprehensive software designs and architectures for server-side and client-side components, having the full lifecycle of the systems in mind
  • Support the transition of the new products into operations ensuring the proper tools and training are in place including life cycle support


Who We Are Looking For (More About You):


In order to achieve the outcomes described above, we believe you will have the following:




  • Strong foundation in computer science and a wide range of experience in many aspects of software development
  • Ability to work within an Agile/Scrum ecosystem
  • Expert knowledge in programming in at least two of the following languages (our current development is based on Go, if you don’t have relevant specific knowledge on Go SES will offer required on-job training):


    • C/C++
    • Python
    • Java
    • Go
