Senior Manager, Software Solutions Engineering

The Senior Manager of Software Solutions Engineering shall be the pillar of the team culture in which the diversity of approaches, background and perspectives facilitate finding innovative high-impact solutions, while managing the team of software engineers in delivering state of the art software solution to our external and internal customers to provide on Techcom’s revenue growth and profitability targets. 
In this position you will guide the delivery of software solutions in the areas of quantum communication, emergency relief and satellite navigation and communication.


You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):

  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and coach software solutions engineers at different levels of experience
  • Supervise the development, deployment, and integration of software solutions
  • Manage and execute against software development project plans and deliver commitments within a professional, high paced engineering environment
  • Support the attraction of new business by directing the software solutions elements for various Request for Proposal (RFP) phases like preparations, handover, proposal, and contract negotiations
  • Interface with our internal/external customers to understand requirements, set priorities, and communicate direction and progress
  • Work closely with System Architecture team on identifying and applying synergies between different projects and establishing the integrated software development environment
  • Coordinate the setup of budgets, procurements, integrations, installations, and handovers
  • Establish software engineering best practices and drive their implementation and improvements
  • Provide recommendation aiming at continuously improving SES Techcom perspectives of development, effectiveness, and growth



Must Have

  • Master’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum experience:

- 6 years of applicable working experiences related to software development and/or software solutions implementation
- 3 years of applicable experience in leading or managing diverse software development teams, involving multiple external parties (suppliers, contractors, subcontractors)
- 3 years of experience architecting and designing (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems

  • Software development background including design patterns, data structures, and test-driven development
  • Knowledge of mainstream programming languages (C/C++, Python, Java, JavaScript, etc)
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies (Kanban and/or SCRUM)
  • Background in partnering with product, service and program management teams
  • Willingness to enroll in the clearance process

  • Experience with Azure DevOps environment
  • Internal and external communication skills and team-spirit
  • Analytical sense and ability to synthesize, anticipate, manage and mitigate risks
