ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Within Facilities, Engineering and Operations, the Safety, Environment and Physical security Officer handles all activities orbiting around the site assigned to her/him to ensure a safe, secured environment for SES. Her/His focus is on protecting premises, people and SES business.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS
The Safety Officer (SO) for Kockelscheuer shall ensure the following tasks are implemented on site:
- Compliance with environmental, health and safety (EHS) legislation;
- Application of the company’s, EHS strategy;
- Monitoring of EHS working methods, risk assessments, and accident prevention measures;
- Regular inspections and maintenance of EHS records;
- Developing, updating, and communicating EHS topics with special attention to emergency, and evacuation plans;
- Organization and leading of evacuation drills;
- Workplace EHS performance assessment;
- Liaising in case of emergency with labor and environmental authorities, regulatory bodies, occupational health services, and emergency responders;
- Support the definition of EHS training and the record keeping.
- Have an open dialogue with personnel delegation and interested parties about EHS matters.
The officer shall take care of the security of the facilities with regards to:
- Access control, badges
- Cameras and general surveillance
- Managing and reporting incidents on timely due manner
- Implement specific countermeasures to protect classified zones on site.
- Handling classified material, processes and access
Reporting Tasks
The SO in Kockelscheuer shall notify any major issue to the SES site leadership.
For support and to ensure EHS activities are aligned with SES policies, the SO will discuss and review the above points regularly with the SES Senior Manager, Health & Safety, Security and Environment.
Training
For the current need: The SO shall attend and pass the course « Travailleur désigné en matière de sécurité et de santé au travail - Groupe B » and ensure participation in 8 hours of refresher training every 5 years.
For the future SES project (MotherFab) the SO shall attend and pass the Group C training.
COMPETENCIES
- Mantaining a constant dialogue with different departments.
- Proactiveness and clear understanding of what is urgent and important.
- Being able to handle basic technical topics (e.g. reading a technical drawing)
- Lead by example by showing the importance of EHS and Security on site.
- Customer oriented.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- BSc engineering degree or diploma of Technician with related professional experience.
- Knowledge of Security and EHS policies, procedures and norms
- Experience in handling incidents and accidents
- Able to obtain NATO/EU clearance
