(Senior) Project Manager, Satellite Manufacturing

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

As Project Manager, Satellite Manufacturing, you will support the planning, coordination, and execution of satellite manufacturing initiatives, ensuring alignment across engineering, supply chain, facilities, and IT functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Assist the SVP Satellite Manufacturing in prioritizing initiatives, coordinating activities, and preparing management meetings.
  •  Manage project execution using professional PM tools, including documentation, schedules, requirements tracking, review cycles, resource planning, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Maintain project progress dashboards, ensuring timely delivery of agreed milestones, deliverables, and closure of action items.
  • Define and promote the consistent use of professional project management methods and tools internally and across teams.
  • In collaboration with Engineering and Supply Chain, identify and select project contractors and vendors, manage RFP processes, and establish and oversee subcontractor agreements.
  • In collaboration with Finance, manage project budgets and resource allocation, ensuring cost transparency, forecasting, and financial control.
  • In collaboration with Facilities, define requirements and manage budget oversight for manufacturing infrastructure and CAPEX projects.
  • In collaboration with IT, enable appropriate digital tools and systems to support the development and scaling of the satellite manufacturing organization.

COMPETENCIES, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • University degree in Project Management, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience contributing to the design, development, implementation, testing, validation, or operation of satellite and/or ground systems.
  • Minimum 7 years of professional project management experience, ideally with Agile methodologies and certification such as SCRUM or equivalent.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, demonstrating flexibility as project priorities and requirements evolve.
  • Strong organizational awareness, ensuring operational decisions align with broader strategic objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), enabling effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams including engineering, production, quality, and leadership.
  • Ability to interface effectively with engineering, quality, production, finance, and logistics functions.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Loop, Azure DevOps, or comparable project management tools.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are considered an asset.

OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS / COMMENTS

  • Eligibility for ESA / EU / NATO / National SECRET personnel security clearance is required. Candidates must be willing to undergo the necessary security clearance procedures.
  • Willingness to work at least 60% onsite.
  • Travel as required to support project execution
