ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

 

The Project Manager is an essential staff member for achieving yearly company objectives derived from a long-term business plan build on revenue growth and profitability. The Project Manager manages, coordinates and report on the deployment of multiple Satellite Communications (SATCOM) product and service deployment projects around the globe. The incumbent transitions newly developed products and product features into Operations.

 

Extended Job Description:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS

 

Manage projects / product development / product & service deployment

 

  • Lead and manage customized integration projects
  • Collect operations and service requirements for the developments of product/feature/tools
  • Manage product developments activities within Operations – Integration & Operations Services (INTOPS) division
  • In a matrix approach, coordinate the INTOPS participation and resources to product developments teams in cooperation with the relevant Section/Resource Managers
  • Manage transition into Operations and Services sections of new products/releases/features in coordination with the respective Operations and Services Managers
  • Provide monthly reports with analysis on status, evolution and forecasting of product development progress
  • Manage specific satcom products and services deployments Programs (e.g.: one-way, two-way, broadcast/broadband communication platforms and/or related infrastructures
  • Manage for both internal and external customers at program level the different specific projects by focusing on scope, schedule, resources, costs and quality
  • Coordinate with other internal departments the successful realisation and transitioning of satcom systems into services and operations
  • Provide monthly reports with analysis on status, evolution and forecasting of program progress

Qualification & Experience

 

  • Have a University Degree in RF, Electronics, Microwave, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent
  • Have min. of 10 years of professional experience out of which 5 years of applicable working experiences related to end-to-end project management, along waterfall PM principles and/or AGILE methodologies
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or AGILE certifications preferred
  • Experience in implementing and delivering customer managed services
  • Sound Business development experience – including leading/contributing to proposal and contract acquisitions
  • Experience in managing scope, resources, time schedules and budgets
  • Experience in implementing/delivering managed services
  • Knowledge of systems engineering and more specifically network engineering principles
  • Have min. 5 years of applicable experience in managing multi-functional teams in the Space Industry and involving multiple external parties (suppliers, contractors, subcontractors)
  • Travel up to 20% of the time
