ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
IRIS2 is the new European Union secure satellite constellation. This project is the European Union's answer to the pressing challenges of tomorrow to provide secure connectivity services and enhanced communication capacities to the EU and its Member States as well as to governmental users, private companies and European citizens while ensuring high-speed internet broadband to cope with connectivity dead zones.SES – together with other consortium partners and core members - was selected by European Commission to build and to operate the IRIS2 multi-orbit satellite constellation. The IRIS2 team enters next project phases and there is a strong need of support for all the activities around service provisioning and products that the system can offer in the future. In your Project Controller role, you are supporting the Project Manager in a smooth execution of the Project keeping track of the timeline, milestones as well as the budget for the scope defined. You will work closely with the PMO team as well as the Finance team and follow SES standards with regards to all relevant activities.
You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):
- Review in alignment with the Project Manager the proposal/contractual documentation (requirements documents, SOW and other) and interpret programmatic plans
- In cooperation with the Project Manager(s) and the engineering teams, support the preparation of project management plans addressing all PMI dimensions of projects
- Strong continuous support to the Project Manager and the Finance team, in centralizing project budgets/resources information aiming at cost control, cost forecasting, customer invoicing, (sub-contractor) invoice management
- Important contribution in writing/editing/reviewing of proposal documentation
- Support the project teams in preparing project/contractual milestones
- Support the Project Manager in day-to-day documentation management, time schedule preparations, requirement management, manpower resourcing plans, budget control, communication & reporting
YOUR PROFILE
Must Have
- Degree in office administration and/or accounting
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in supporting project management preferably in institutional (EC, ESA) space-related programs
- Solid experience in setting up, editing and managing documents using MS WORD/EXCEL, collaborative documentation management systems (e.g. SHAREPOINT)
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- Collaborative approach working with cross-functional project teams and ability to integrate individual duties towards successful realizations
- Excellent internal and external communication skills as well as team-spirit
- Excellent analytical sense and ability to synthesize
- Strong coordination and priority setting abilities
- Innovative spirit, business minded and self-starting qualities
- Due to the nature of work on this role we require all candidates preferably already holding an EU citizenship or alternatively able to obtain an EU Security Clearance allowing the handling of EU classified information
- Willing to work at least 66% onsite from office
- Travel as required for project realization purposes
Nice to have
- Experience in a Technical environment preferred
- Ideally, experience in institutional national, EU, ESA programs
- Experience in MS Project and/or SAP would be considered as assets
- Besides English, any other European language is considered as an asset
