Senior Architect, Product Development
ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The incumbent will be responsible for leading the design, testing & integration of Satellite based products and services at the centre of an innovative global organization operating in a unique and fast paced industry. They will follow the SES Product Development Lifecycle process and work with individual Technology domains to integrate each into end-to-end solutions. They will work with Product Manager and Vertical Teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical deliverables.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS
- Lead the assigned technical architecture of SES products & services
- Lead the design, testing and integration of systems that contribute to the delivery of SES products
- Perform the role of system engineer on initiatives and ensure there is interoperability between all service components
- Work on key projects that will have a meaningful impact on SES’ success and align to business objectives
- Work across a broad range of technologies associated with Satellite based solutions
- Deliver designs of product architectures that align with product requirements.
- Work independently on assigned tasks within a larger program structure.
- Collaborate with relevant internal teams and with external contractors to define end-to-end product architectures.
- Adhere to SES Product Development process and deliver output associated with this role
- Lead & participate in testing and integration activities for product solutions.
- Interface with vendors to align requirements, as well as follow through on developments and report regularly.
- Interface with product management to understand customer requirements and translate those into technical requirements.
- Support the definition of operational plans & procedures to operate end-to-end services in an efficient and reliable manner.
- Collaborate and support the service transition and operations teams on the managed and sovereign service delivery, including training of internal & external stakeholders on any delivered projects.
- Provide training and guidance on the managed and sovereign service architecture definition.

- Ability to work with multiple tasks spread over multiple non-related topics efficiently
- Ability to act as a “gap filler” among multiple teams to ensure task delivery in a timely manner
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or similar related scientific/engineering fields
- 10 years’ experience in Satellite & Telecommunication Systems
- Experience with Satellite based Platform technologies
- Experience of Mobility Satellite Networks
- Interest & Experience in automation
- Knowledge & Experience of Software Development & Databases – e.g Python/SQL
- Awareness of IP and ethernet connectivity services
- Understanding of virtualization techniques and operating systems for operationally critical infrastructure
- Experience in documenting products, processes and requirements
- Fluent in English, other languages are beneficial.
OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS / COMMENTS
- Work with cross discipline teams (satellite experts, sales, business experts, etc.)
- Work with remote management and team members
- Domestic and international travel required occasionally
