Manager, Fleet Strategy and Development

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Manager for Fleet Strategy and Development will be supporting the Infrastructure for Resilience, Interconnectivity and Security by Satellite Programme (IRIS2), in all fleet development related aspects and ensuring alignment with related SES infrastructure investments and will work closely with the Product Owners in defining and maintaining relevant product overviews as key inputs for optimized future satellite and ground infrastructure design.
In order to support the IRIS2 programme you will be responsible for contributing to the multi-year planning and development of the global SES satellite fleet including the supporting ground infrastructure, while playing an active role in ensuring the roll-out of the global fleet in accordance with company strategy, determine and prioritize future satellite procurements especially relating to IRIS2 and support the VP and Senior Managers Fleet Strategy and Development in coordinating cross-functional teams to develop the design and corresponding business case for individually assigned future satellite procurements.
You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):
- Contribute to the definition of SES’ future integrated fleet architecture strategy in accordance with company strategy and the imperatives of the IRIS2 Programme
- Support the IRIS2 Programme in defining and maintaining relevant product overviews as key inputs for optimized future LEO/MEO satellite and ground infrastructure design
- Work with internal stakeholders to develop innovation concepts to support IRIS2 requirements and to ensure the SES fleet remains relevant and meets the commercial / product objectives
- Coordinate and exploit synergies between the IRIS2 programme and the SES business & strategy
- Play a part in the development of the SES Global Fleet Plan taking into account IRIS2 dependencies and deliver maximum enterprise value and return of asset investment in case of redeployment for GEO and replacement options
- Support the VP and Senior Managers Fleet Strategy Development in developing all future satellite and ground infrastructure procurement plans, including managing a cross-functional team for each individual satellite procurement (Spectrum, Sales, Sales Engineering, Corporate Strategy, Technology, Finance, Legal and Regulatory) and developing a business plan for a satellite investment proposal that includes revenue projections, IRR, design parameters, market research, spectrum and regulatory analysis, market strategy, risk assessment etc.
YOUR PROFILE:
1. Must Have
- Educated to at least degree level in Engineering or Business Management
- Minimum 7 years' experience in the satellite industry
- Background in satellite architecture and configuration, satellite development, NGSOs
- Experience in international portfolio management, business development, product development or sales/marketing, ideally with pricing and satellite business cases
- Excellent English verbal and written skills
- Willingness to travel some of the time
